I REALLY REALLY hope that Nebraska pulls the upset this weekend.....I want to see a team like TCU finally get a crack at a national title....given I think they'll get murdered on the field by Florida, but it would finally put to an end of everyone complaining that a small school doesn't get a chance...

2 teams ending with the same amount of losses but the team that lost to the other got to a bigger bowl, that also happened to another team. Texas Tech 39Texas 36There was no way in hell you could make a perfect judgment on that mess. Oh, I know. I was just saying that I had seen that scenario before. And I know it's all water under the bridge, but I think a decisive, ten point win on a neutral field outweighs a last second miracle. But then again, I honestly don't have a full understanding of how the BCS works (I need to look it up sometime). But apparently the people who run the darn thing don't know how it works either. Just ask Utah. I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard that some of the people who do the voting for that system didn't even watch Utah play one single game last year.

I'm fairly certain if Cincinnati beats Pittsburgh, they'll leapfrog TCU for the number two spot if Nebraska were to win. If I'm Boise State, I'm rooting for Texas. Because if Nebraska did win, they'll play in the Fiesta Bowl, Texas would get one of the at-large births and play in the Sugar or Orange and Iowa or Penn State would match up against Nebraska in the Fiesta. That would royally suck for Boise State. That is a good team who deserves to play in a BCS bowl this year. You could argue that Ohio State was a better team than Boise State last year, but I don't know if I could say the same for Iowa this year. And I wouldn't sleep on TCU either if they were to play in the National Title game against Florida or Bama. I find that to be a much more compelling game than if Texas were to play.

Cincy won't get an at large bid over Boise State. Cincy didn't travel well last team, and Boise State travels well. Hmmm... A team defeating another team on the road/on a neutral field, then getting screwed because the team they beat by double digits gets in a higher bowl game than they do. Where have I seen that before... 2008 Red River RivalryTexas - 45Oklahoma - 35Man, it's on the tip of my tongue.... 2 teams ending with the same amount of losses but the team that lost to the other got to a bigger bowl, that also happened to another team. Texas Tech 39Texas 36There was no way in hell you could make a perfect judgment on that mess. But there were more Cincinnati fans at the Orange Bowl than VT fans.

YES!!!!!!!!!! Now bring in Brian Kelly!!!!!! Why on Earth would Brian Kelly leave Cincinnati though? Especially for ND... I think the best option would be a young coach to truely rebuild the program... I've also been hearing Butch Davis is rumored for the ND job....I hope not because he is doing a good job of building up UNC...

Now that Frontbutt is out at Notre Dame, this is what they should be looking for....
- Someone with significant experience head coaching in college
- A defensive-minded coach
- Someone with strong recruiting ties in the Midwest and Northeast
Personally, I think the one guy who's been rumored that would be a perfect fit to these prerequisites would be Brian Kelly.
I hear a lot of people say the ND program is hands down the most overrated football program in America, and there's certainly some merit behind those beliefs. One lousy bowl win in 15 years. No national titles in over 20 years. Never won a BCS bowl. 58% winning percentage in the last decade.
But there's reasons why the ND coaching gig is going to be the most coveted coaching gig out there. Every single game is nationally televised. Solid recruiting classes (not on the level of Bama or Florida but better than most). Very strong fanbase that travels well. And the most important element....$$$$$$.
If Brian Kelly is looking for big bucks, force ND to commit double or triple what he's making at Cincinnati. Everyone knows ND has the big bucks to accomplish that. He's gonna get paid regardless of whether he stays or goes, but he'll get more from the Irish.

An announcement regarding the future of Florida State coach Bobby Bowden is set to come on Tuesday. Bowden met with President T.K. Wetherell and athletic director Randy Spetman, but no indication has been given on how the meeting went

With the BCS Selection show one week away, here's how I see the BCS bowls playing out: THE ROSE BOWL GAMEOhio State (Big Ten champion) vs. Oregon (Pac-10 champion) ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWLAlabama (SEC at-large) vs. TCU (at-large) TOSTITOS FIESTA BOWLIowa (Big Ten at-large) vs. Boise State (at-large) FEDEX ORANGE BOWLCincinnati (Big East champion) vs. Georgia Tech (ACC champion) BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (Pasadena, CA)Texas (BCS #2) vs. Florida (BCS #1) 2 things 1) Very plausible Bowl schedule. 2) Love the sig pic with Belichick and the Lombardi Trophies. Not just because I'm a Pats fan, but it's also funny seeing Belichick acting demonstrative about his success (instead of his "it is what it is" form of downplaying things) and having somewhat of a smile on his face. Back on topic of college football. I was saving this For when Notre Dame eventually fired Weis.

They may look at Bob Stoops, but trust me when I say that guy is not leaving Oklahoma. We (Florida) already tried it twice and both times....he said thanks, but no thanks.

There are reports surfacing that Notre Dame offered Stoops 24M over 8 years. Which is actually a pay cut.

Bobby Bowden will be replaced according to SUN Sports. This better not be true. Sure, the program may not be what it once was, but he is the reason it got to that point. He is one of the best coaches of this generation (if not ever). I think he and Paterno both deserve to go out on their own terms.

I agree. The guy built the program, if he's saying he wants one more year, give him the farewell tour, and use that time to search for a successor.
