The episode of Fresh Prince where Will's father leaves him again and Uncle Phil embracing him at the end gets me.
If anyone watches the show Rescue Me, theres an episode where Denis Leary's son gets killed by a drunk driver.

It's been a loooooooooooong time since I've seen Jurassic Bark, this there anyway that one of you kind gents can remind me how it ends. {Spoiler}They go to clone Seymour but the clone machine whatever it was called reveals that Seymour lived for a good few years after Fry left. Fry then stops the process because he'd rather that Seymour had a happy life than be cloned.
But then it's shown that Seymour actually spent the remainder of his days waiting outside the pizza place for Fry.

Agreed with Futurama's "Jurassic Bark" and the Dinosaurs finale.
There was also an episode of M*A*S*H where all of the members have nightmares (Hot Lips in her wedding dress, covered in blood; Winchester as a stage magician, performing while patients die; Hawkeye without arms, floating in a boat). At the end, all of the cast members go off to get some rest and Winchester says "To sleep... perchance to dream", leading everyone to stay up for another cup of coffee...
There's a few M*A*S*H episodes that end on a down note, but that's the first I thought of.

The series finale of Six Feet Under makes this 25 year old man cry HARD every time he watches it.
The Shield's finale was depressing, but when considering all possible outcomes, it's kinda hard not to end on a sour note. It's the only way it could have ended.
Lastly, on a side note, the season 3 finale of Deadwood is deeply depressing for me, only because it's of the greatest shows i've ever seen, and it was ended without a proper finale. It pains me thinking of what could have been in store for season 4 and beyond.

It pains me thinking of what could have been in store for season 4 and beyond. I'm guessing if it continued the final would be based about the great Deadwood fire of 1879: A fire on September 26, 1879, devastated the town, destroying over 300 buildings and consuming everything belonging to many inhabitants. Without the opportunities of rich untapped veins of ore that characterized the town's early days, many of the newly impoverished left town to try their luck elsewhere.I heard the show's sets have been dismantled already. But if they were going to destroy the set anyway them they might as well burned them down and filmed it for a finale.

If you want recent, this week's Criminal Minds is a real downer (especially for a family holiday week). I imagine we won't see much more of Hotch.

I kind of get choked up by The Simpsons where Moe falls in love then loses the little person. "Who knew someone so small could make me feel so big"

The Shield was a pretty big downer. Ronnie goes to jail, Shane kills his wife and son, and Vic is alone and forced to do a job he hates. Exactly what I was thinking. But more that Ronnie has to wear everything & Vic get off scott free. Shane & Mara were beyond redemption but I was genuinely shocked when Jackson was dead too.

Final episode of WCW Nitro, of course. Series Finale of Quantum Leap{Spoiler}We're told Sam never was able to "leap" home, because the writers are a bunch of assholes. A few episodes of Forever Knight had REAL downer endings but the series finale was the biggest downer of all: {Spoiler}Tracy Vetter is shot and killed, Nick kills Natalie by draining too much of her blood and we're led to believe Lacroix staked Nick at the end, though it's not shown. And there was an episode of the Clueless tv show where Cher's boyfriend dies from internal injuries he got from getting into a drunk driving accident. For a teen UPN show, that was pretty heavy.

The Abyssinia Henry episode and the Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen episode of MASH.
The aforementioned Fresh Prince episode where Will's father leaves him again.

Abyssinia Henry is a clear one for this thread. Goodbye, Farewell and Amen I wouldn't agree with. It's a bit like Luck of the Fryrish. Moving, but not depressing.

I was never saddened by Jurassic Bark.
But I'm not really a dog person.
