don bradmans 99.94 batting average This. Totally this. That level of consistency at the top level with the quality of bowling, particularly mystery spin, is practically impossible. Mariusz Pudzianowski's 5 World's Strongest Man Titles won't be broken until someone with something special comes along. Only Jon Pall Sigmarsson comes close to him really, and probably would have done more but for his untimely death. |

don't see anyone getting close to undertaker's 17-0 wrestlemania streak... in nascar, its very unlikely anyone will get close to richard petty's 200 wins. Someone would have to win at least 10 races a year for 20 years just to tie it! Unfortunatly if "you know who" gets his 4th straight cup tomorrow (by chase rules mind you) that would hold up too  COME ON MARK MARTIN! |

Chicago Bulls 72 wins in the 1995-96 season. I just don't see any NBA team getting 73 wins in a single season. That team was so ridiculously dominant, it was insane.

There's this guy in Minnesota who's only 24, and already has 4,000 yards. Plus he still has half the season to play, and this is only his 3rd year. Adrian Peterson has a damn good shot at breaking Emmitt's yardage record. I'd say Jerry Rice's 208 touchdowns in a career. And even though it's not a record, I can't see anyone beating 22 touchdown receptions in 12 games. |

The Bulls' 72-10 record will hold up. Albert Pujols' 9 consecutive seasons (and counting) to start a career with over .300/30/100 will not be passed. Jimmie Foxx and Chuck Klein winning the AL and NL (respectively) Triple Crowns in the same season, 1933, won't happen again. Greg Maddux's record of 18 Gold Gloves is safe for a good while. Hughie Jennings' 287 times hit by a pitch is pretty safe now that Biggio is retired...unless everyone decides to plunk Jason Kendall for a year or two. Randy Johnson is 13 HBP away from passing Eddie Plank and the Big Train himself for #1 All-Time. Ryan's K record is out of reach. The Unit must claim this record instead! As for the single-season MLB batting average record... In the so-called Modern Era of post-1900, Nap Lajoie hit .427 in 1901. I like Maury Wills' odds of retaining his record 165 regular season games played in 1962. Babe Ruth's 457 total bases in 1921 ought to hold up a while longer. Hack Wilson's 1931 record of 190 RBI? If we're gona talk about any of the young guys that may get near Emmits record, i'd have to say it looks more like Chris Johnson, then AD. There is no way Peterson survives 10+ years plus with his style of running. Dudes a horse then never fails to finish a run. CJ on the other hand, quietly looks like the second coming of Barry Sanders. |

The 33 consecutive wins the 1971-1972 Los Angeles Lakers put up. I know the most recent team to have flirted with the record was the Houston Rockets a couple of years ago with 22 wins, but 38 years later, it still stands.

Sadly it looks like 'Titanic' will forever hold the biggest Worldwide Box Office record. It's record is: $1,835,300,000
The closest film to that record is surprisingly(to me anyway) not The Dark Knight. It's actually Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King which is about $700,000,000 behind Titanic's record.

The last team to win 4 consecutive league championships for a major North American sports league (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) was the Islanders. Its been 30 years now and I don't think in today's day and age its possible to keep a team together and that consistently good. Even Jordan's Bulls only reached 3-Peats.
During that time the Islanders also won 19 straight playoff series. Another mark that will probably never be passed.

I can't see any final score margin in an AFL Grand Final being as large as 07's Port/Geelong. i can sure it was a beating but in the context of the gamee it wasnt an asskicking of truly epic size. there will be other grandfinals were teams are completely out classed |

They had this question on a radio show over here yesterday so I'll rip that off and say Edwin Moses, they guy won 122 consecutive races over 10 years in the 400m hurdles.
