United were awful today, I think Liverpool deserved their win.
Also a mouthwatering tie in the F.A. Cup, Millwall vs. AFC Wimbledon or Crawley Town FC (a 20 minute drive from my house). Needless to say Id love to see Crawley get through, It would be such a huge game for the Town.......even if it is chav country.

Just caught a few moments of the Arsenal/West Ham game.
The penalty should never have been given. Complete dive and the referee was conned. West Ham got a player sent off later on but it doesn't even out.

Thats twice in a week we've failed to hold on to a lead, not encouraging ahead of the visit of Spurs next Saturday.
Mind you we won 2 nil at West Ham last season then blew a 2 goal lead to Spurs 3 days after. So by that logic we'll beat Spurs 2 nil.......I can hope.

Just saw the game now - first West Ham goal was a soft free kick given after Hines ran into Diaby. The second was a makeup penalty because the more convincing foul on Parker wasn't given. You always fear moments when the referee misses an obvious penalty because you'll know the first chance he gets, he'll give one for a far softer offence.
Still, doesn't excuse the chances we missed. Hopefully we should do Spurs next week though.
As for that other game, gotta admit I chuckled at United's humbling.

Can't really argue with Liverpool winning today, Fergie got his tactics wrong and Liverpool definately deserved the win. Carragher should have really gone but we were outplayed for the majority of it and rarely threatened.

I am also mildly amused by our draw, but more because I've always had a soft spot for AFC Wimbledon due to their scenario of trying to reclaim the league spot that their area deserves, and so I'd be intrigued to see how good the team are and how dedicated the apparently brilliant fanbase are. We're going to play an under strength team and lose.

Can't believe West Ham pulled it out the bag and drew with Arsenal.
Blimey, Arsenal aren't good at dishing out favours.

Why doesn't Milan just buy David? He'll move the needle worldwide and generate some sales in shirts and merchandise. Plus he'll fit in with our aging midfield living off reputation.

I hope all the Rovers players recover 100% from their illness but......why couldn't they have come down with this last Sunday and be recovered now, instead of the reverse? I think we'd have won comfortably if they had.

Eurrrgh horrible weekend.
If it wasn't for Arsenal bottling it as per usual and City throwing away a 2 goal lead it would have been a total nightmare.

Is it wrong that I really couldn't give a flying f*** about tonight's Carling Cup game? I mean, I always want Liverpool to win every game but I just couldn't care about tonight.

The Carling Cup is a joke anyway.
Mainly because teams are like "OMGZ WE HAZ TROPHY!!!" when they win it. But if they go out in the final they're like "meh, it's only the Carling Cup, that's lame anyway".
It's like Arsenal fans and their players, when they're there, and when they leave.

I'm guilty of wanting to win it when we were in the final in 2003. Then again, that was more because we were playing Man Utd. I think that illustrates the main issue I have. I like to win every game but I just don't care about winning the trophy. If by winning the game we win the Carling Cup then that's nice but that's about it really. I know that's a contradiction but that's how I feel.

And oh yeah Rangers are up s*** creek without a paddle. Lot of debt, no money for new players or even contract renewels and if the press if to be believed, even more cuts and/or the threat of administration on the way if someone doesn't buy Rangers I doubt the bank will let Gers go bust but I could be wrong and even if it doesn't come to that then gonna be a bad time to be a Gers fan But hey, I've got Arkham Asylum on the way so not all bad

On the plus side we're through to the semi finals of the diddy cup with a 3-1 win at Dundee. It's always got to be a chore these days. Good to see Wilson and McMillan played the full 90 though, we've been needing to bleed them in for a long time now.

Chris Hughton is now the permanent manager of Newcastle United, and the club is no longer for sale.
And they're also going to sell the naming rights to St. James' Park. Looks like Mike Ashley will be even less popular now.

And they're also going to sell the naming rights to St. James' Park. I know it's just the name of a stadium but jeez. I seriously wonder if the guy sits in his office thinking up ways to p*** us off. We had the largest crowd in all of the leagues on Saturday and it wasn't far off the largest of the weekend. That must have annoyed him for whatever reason.
