I actually kind of want to see this movie. I don't know if it will be the funnest movie I've seen all year, but it could be close ...

...I still think those blue things are creepy as hell... Creepy? More like sexy! Also, I see Banjo beat me to the make a joke about this thing. To bad I'm not joking. But unlike Banjo I won't say I'm sad. I'll say I'm awesome.

Every single review I've read is RAVING about how good it is. The only doubts I've seen left over are the cynical internet folk who are never happy with anything and who, lets face it, have already made up their minds that its going to suck no matter what. Or, maybe it's not an interesting movie to some people, especially one designed as something mindblowing. Same thing with the Fable games. Sure, they're good, but they have the problem where it was suppose to be this epic story and gameplay, and that hurt the film overall.

Why would anyone doubt Cameron? Has the guy ever failed at anything? And they're called the Navi? I don't think I could take two hours of 'HEY LISTEN!'

Why would anyone doubt Cameron? Has the guy ever failed at anything? Dark Angel? Yeah, but I blame the piece of wood Alba more than him. I think an actress that was any good might have made that show a lot better. But then again, he did hire her, so...

The only "bust" was from the Internet types that wanted it so bad to fail, I guess because of Titanic or some other reason. Now that it's actually getting really good reviews, especially about the visuals, they're stuck arguing "Reviews mean nothing" and "Still looks awful" which just shows they were going to hate it all along.

That, and its more fun to hate on popular current stuff than unpopular dated stuff. If I started a "The Master Hate Thread" on here it would have difficulty getting to 1 page. An "Avatar Hate Thread" would give me an insta-five pages. Hating on popular stuff makes you look "edgy" and "counterculture".

When did it become so wrong to hate something?

When did it become so wrong to hate something? When the entire culture became obsessed with hating on things? Hating is too mainstream to be cool anymore.

Old Person Mode:
Back in my day (the late 90s) we did not bitch about a film until after we have actually seen the film itself.

It does absolutely nothing for me personally. I've seen the non-stop advertisement barrage and really would be happy to never see it again. I don't really care that its James Cameron or that they "invented" the future of film making, I just don't want to see it the same freaking commercial on every channel. I don't care if its popular to hate it on the internet and I get grouped in with the "haters", I just want it to either go away or stop advertising. Its on the same level of Twilight to me, but not as sparkly or pale.
I don't care if it makes $5 or $5,00,000,005, just stop with running the same freaking ad and telling me how important it is. Its a CGI fest with smurfs, cliche-spewing Army personnel and a storyline that's been done before. Congrats, now go make a 4D movie about the coming of age of a boy....IN SPACE.

Because at some point hating on something became equivalent to meaning "I'm smarter than everyone who likes this crap!". And that is way beyond old. That's why.

I genuinely was looking forward to this being a massive fan of James Cameron and all, until I saw the previews and saw it was a thinly guised heavily cliched ham-fisted evil-humans preach fest. Ho hum.
Should have released Battle Angel Alita instead Jim!

Doesn't really interest me, but I'm not going to go off on one about it until I finally see it, either at the discount cinema or on my TV.

I'm keen, but not overly keen.
I have never seen a bad James Cameron movie (besides Titanic, but let's be honest, it was successful for a reason) so I'm going to give it a shot. It just seems like a movie he shouldn't be making after a decade out of the industry.
