I think that was the point though. He didn't have any bad blood with Noble. He just broke a man for the simple reason of doing it and showing everybody he could, so he wasn't going to show emotion like it was somebody he had a reason for hurting.
It's also why I don't think Noble's lack of credibility matters. It wasn't about Noble (though he should get credit for the great selling.) It was about Sheamus going out of his way to break a guy's back and cripple him just to get recognized on RAW. Could've been Noble, Funaki, or a local indy guy, as long as it was human being being treated like a piece of meat.

Do you put him up against Miz for the US Title? I mean, I think that would turn Sheamus face for sure, which I don't think they want.

The face Noble makes immediately after smacking the ground after the powerbomb absolutely sold the moment for me - and I'm not convinced that it was selling either. My heart just (kayfabe) broke for the man when he made that horrible contorted face like he was about to cry. What an amazing squash. I feel for the man. That must have hurt like a mother.

I think that was the point though. He didn't have any bad blood with Noble. He just broke a man for the simple reason of doing it and showing everybody he could, so he wasn't going to show emotion like it was somebody he had a reason for hurting. His kayfabe reasoning was that he was going to end Jamie's career. Who would do such a thing? A big mean heel who's mean and scary and mean, that's who. A guy who looks like this: If he's going to be a monster heel, he has to act like a monster heel. When he was going back up the ramp, he was almost, kind of showing his teeth, a little. Lawler awkwardly commented "Is he smiling?" and that was an honest question because it was impossible to tell. Sheamus should either have had an evil grin on his face and had his own fists raised in the air for how proud he was of himself, or a mean, vicious look on his face showing just how intense and vicious he is, and how even after kayfabe destroying Noble he's still not done yet. Instead, we got this: I know it sounds like I'm being too hard on him, and he's a young guy who has time, but he just got called up to Raw. In the long run, he needs to up his game by emoting more.

I think he might have been trying the Austin "blank psychotic stare"....which didn't work for Sheamus at all. Austin could do that because he had those intense, laser-beam eyes, and you know, his face was usually pretty expressive, so when he did the blank stare, it was damn disturbing.
Undertaker's "angry stare of doom" might work a bit better for Sheamus.

Could've been Noble, Funaki, or a local indy guy, as long as it was human being being treated like a piece of meat. I think that his first match was about tearing Noble up. I think the second was him destroying Noble for the gall to face him again, as if Sheamus hadn't finished the job, so he felt he needed to make an example of him.

I don't see how anyone could say the match was pointless. Going into tonight Sheamus hadn't been getting much reaction at all outside of "Get a tan!" chants, and last week, a "Boring!" chant.
One destruction of Jamie Noble later and he's getting boos and "You suck!" chants.

I'll say it's pointless now, but if this DOES get him boos from now on, then I'll be the first person to take back my opinion.

It's a start though when up until Monday he was getting nothing. So any bets on who he tears up next? I'm thinking it's going to be Bourne or Chavo next week. Though you know...if this were still the Attitude Era, I wouldn't bet against him attacking a Diva.

That being said, if he did attack a woman, it'd more likely be something like him simply preventing her from leaving and taking a beatdown from a gangup by heel divas or something, for his own amusement.

You bring up a great point: I was watching the Rumble from a few years back, and they had Cena and Umaga on there, and they had a spot in the vignette where Cena had the crimson mask, and then even showed HBK bleeding from a vicious beatdown. Couple that with the Maria/Umaga altercation, and it seems like they toned down REALLY quickly.

Noble sold that squash to hell.
Fair play to the guy.
