To be fair, to have a subplot that'd require Cena / Trips / Michaels to have a plot. And... it doesn't, really. It's basically, "Yeah, we have a match in a few weeks. Let's fight Jericho & Show!"

Ah, but remember now, after the Cena/Orton/HHH morass, this is the period when WWE's going to start pushing fresh young talent!
Given the way he's been being steadily built up for the last several months, this is obviously leading to Hornswaggle's first World title reign.

So if it's not the sub-plot, that means it IS the plot.
So, the main plot of the top feud of the flagship show of the only prominent wrestling company in America...is the copyright issues between two middle aged men and a midget who thinks he's a little kid. Co-starring a former white rapper.

Hay I think this has the potential to be the best storyline of the year and hopefully Hornswoggle wins the WWE title in which he very much deserves . . .

So long as they kept it short (teehee) and had it happen in a suitably fluky way, I honestly wouldn't so much mind a Hornswoggle title run. Now, if he used the magic of painted walls to pin Randy Orton for a three count... still okay because it's Orton, but if it was someone like Cena then I'd cry foul.

Well the angle(s) is/are shallow anyway. It's just about having the top heel and face tag teams facing the respective champions of either show, and it was accomplished in such a dubious fashion. If midgets are involved in a show or two, it's because live crowds like midgets.
Plus it's a wrestling show. :/

Just think about this, the WWE Championship match at one of the Big 4 shows was made by a Leprechaun who is being sued for Copyright Infringement by the anti-authority group that he put in the match.
That disturbs me more than anything else, Hornswoggle has stroke in WWE.

I would rather see a Punk, Cena, Jericho, and Taker Fatal Fourway where the first pinfall is for the World Heavyweight Championship and the second is for the WWE Championship. Hell, throw in Christian and one other person (Orton, MVP, Regal, IDK), put the ECW Title up, and make it a Six Pack Challenge.
And no, I'm not kidding about this.

Somehow, this will all lead to Cena defending Hornswoggle, and DX being heel until they point out that Horny was trying to steal from them, making Cena doubt himself, at which time he goes out to confront Horny who makes the puppy dog eyes and Cena gives him a title shot. Horny wins when he tries to drop an anvil on Cena but winds up accidentally dropping a cardboard cut-out of Jim Neidhart on his head. THe ref counts the fall, but then realizes that the cardboard cut out actually made the initial cover, and is awarded the title.
THe next week, the real Jim Neidhart shows up to claim the title, but is run over by a remote control car and sells it like he's been shot by a Howitzer. Horny then steals the title leading to an "end of the rainbow" match in which Cena, Trips, and Shawn must wrestle dressed as the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, and Scarecrow respectively.
Santino runs in dressed as Dorothy, makes the cover, and becomes the new champion.
