This is as engraved into the fabric of professional wrestling as pins and submissions. Whenever a match ends with someone running in and attacking someone and a huge brawl breaks out, the timekeeper will ring his bell. And, he'll keep ringing it throughout the brawl. WHY!? As long as I've been watching wrestling, this never EVER stopped anyone from attacking someone else. Why does this keep going on?

My guess is that he's hoping to distract them from the fight.

My guess is that he's hoping to distract them from the fight. If it didn't work the first time, why the hell will it world the nest 1000 times?

Maybe they feel left out from all the chaos and that's their way of showing their aggression.
*DING*DING*DING* "Yeah, take that!" *DING*DING*DING*

I always thought it was to signal for help from the back.Granted with the whole being filmed thing and all the monitors it is more vestigial.

I loved it in WCW when they would do that. nWo would brawl for like ten minutes while the bell kept ringing, it reached comic levels.

He's trying to annoy them enough for them to stop fighting. Cena and Orton brawling, the bell ringing Cena: "Could you please stop that?" Orton: "Yeah it's really annoying."

I've always wanted to see a situation where they actually take notice of the bell and immediately stop fighting.
*Bell rings mid-brawl*
Orton: "You know what? The timekeeper's right, the match is over and we've taken this way too far." Kofi: "Agreed."
*Both men casually walk to the back*

I've always wanted someone to grab the bell from the timekeeper and yell "STOP IT! IF THAT RINGING DIDN'T STOP ME THE FIRST TIME, WHY WOULD IT STOP ME THE 50,000 TIMES YOU RANG IT!!!!?"

Why do I know the timekeeper's name?

I'd love to see the time-keeper throw a temper tantrum after ringing the bell for 2-3 minutes to no avail. Just stand up, throw his little hammer down, and yell- tears flowing from his eyes- "Well you know what? Then screw you, screw you, and screw you! Armstrong, you're still cool." And walk away. And for the rest of the night, the ring announcer has to get on the microphone and say "Ding ding" into it to note the beginning and end of the contests.
