I'm not upset with the decision to give Sheamus the title shot, I'm pretty excited to see where it's going. If it were up to me, however, I would have given him a little more time to develop. Then again, Lesnar worked out. Regardless, I would have gone with Christian at this point. I would have had him drop the ECW Title to Shelton Benjamin a few weeks ago and pushed him to main event level last night. Again, not complaining, I think Sheamus was a good move, I just want to see what everyone else thinks.

I like Sheamus, and love the idea of ANYONE new in the main event, but I would have gone with Miz. They already have a history between the two, and its not like Cena is gonna lose the title anyway.

I really like how Sheamus is getting push but I would've given The Miz or Christian instead though.

I like Sheamus and I'm totally cool with the decision, but I have this major curiosity to see how Morrison and Taker would work now. The IC Champion vs. The World Champion.

This is where a face champion is a bit of a drag. Had Jericho or Orton been champ, you could have easily hotshotted MVP, Kofi, or Mark Henry into this title shot and it would have gone over much better. However, since Cena is the champ, the right choice would have been The Miz. They have a history, Miz has been pushed on Raw far longer than a month, he has been in the ring with credible opponents for well over a year, and since he is the US champ he won't suffer from a massive slide down the card after his inevitable loss to Cena.

I don't really mind Sheamus but I don't think he's established enough on Raw to get a title shot yet. I would maybe go with The Miz and pick up on his feud with Cena but I voted other because I think they should have pushed Jack Swagger into the role and he had a pretty good match with Cena on the draft show a few months ago. I'm a big fan of Christian's and CM Punk's but they would either have to turn Christian to feud with Cena or draft Punk to Raw for those to happen.

I have to say I agree with Sheamus. Christian deserves it more, but I'd like him to remain as a face for as long as he can (which probably won't happen considering we have face champs). Morrison, Miz and Truth need a little more time to polish some areas. Kofi is already on his way to main event land. Swagger, Ziggler and MVP need to get their credibility back. As for McIntyre, I couldn't care less about him.

I would have liked to see Swagger. His arrogance and aggressive self esteem are heat magnets. A win like this would be perfect for him. I think he should get a big PPV title match before Sheamus does.

I love the idea of seeing new faces in the main event, but you can't just put in a guy who hasn't broken through yet (despite the name of the match being 'breakthrough battle royal.' It should have been for next week's Raw, not the PPV. In the future this may feel like the Big Show/Bossman title match or the Brock Lesnar/Bob Holly title match. Something that should have been on TV only. Come to think of it, did Big Show defend the belt against Bossman on PPV or is this just my memories getting mixed up?

Why is Christian on the list? He's the sodding biggest superstar on ECW.

Why is Christian on the list? He's the sodding biggest superstar on ECW. Answering your own question. ECW isn't taken seriously by anyone besides people like us. Last night in the "you must have never been a World Champion to get a shot" qualifiers, there were two guys who held the ECW Championship within the last 18 months.

A well-built Swagger would have been a perfect foil for clean-cut Cena, at least just for this PPV.

Big Show faced Bossman at Armageddon 99 but it was basically an extended squash

I'd have given it to Swagger. But that's because I feel like it'd be a better match and it'd give Sheamus an extra month to build before you give him a shot at the Rumble (which is the one PPV each year where it seems to be okay to give untested midcarders a world title match).

From that list, at this point in time...no theoretical signings or imaginary 'build-up' campaign beforehand...
...I probably would've gone with The Miz, Drew or Shamus.
Christian still has some life left as ECW champ before they need to (IMO) draft him up, MVP seems in an odd patch at the moment, Kofi is busy with Orton, Morrison needs heels at the moment, Ziggler needs some squashes and I like what Punk & R-Truth are doing together at the moment.

Christian is kinda the ECW champ right now...
The only other one in a good enough position is Miz and seeing as I see him against Swagger for the US down the line (I'm feeling like a broken record right now), Sheamus is the best choice for me

Yeah, The Miz. Sheamus is too early and it's not like with Brock Lesnar where there's a chance he'll win.
