What if O.J. Simpson had been cast as the Terminator? (seriously, he was considered for it, but turned down because he had too much of a "nice guy" appearance that people wouldn't buy as a cold-blooded killer. I can't make this up) Well he can be cast now I guess.

What if Andy Dufrense was played by Tom Hanks in The Shawshank Redemption?
What if Gene Hackman played Hannibal Lechter in Silence of the Lambs?
I think both would have been awesome, but quite different portrayals.

I don't know how true this is, but there was one rumor that Christian Bale was one of the people considered to play Robin in "Batman Forever"
Imagine if he got that yet still managed to get the Batman part in "Batman Begins".

Wasn't Marlon Wayans cast as Robin in Batman Returns, and they actually fitted him for the costume and had action figures lined up and stuff? I think he actually got paid for it even after they scrapped the idea. Also, legend has it that it came down to Chris O'Donnell and DiCaprio for the role of Robin in Batman Forver, and Joel Schumacher basically asked people who would win in a fight between the two. Most people picked O'Donnell, and that's who got the part. Now figure that O'Donnell doesn't do badass roles and DiCaprio has been pretty crazy with The Departed, Blood Diamond, and others lately.

What if John Belushi had lived long enough to make Ghostbusters?
What if Ian McKellan took over the role of Dumbledore when Richard Harris died? ( I remember hearing that it was offered to him and he declined)
What if the Nicholas Cage Superman from the late 90's actually got made?
I remember reading somewhere that A Clockwork Orange was originally to have starred Mick Jagger and had the rest of the Stones as his droogies.

What if Martin Scorsese made Gangs of New York in the 70's as a musical with The Clash staring in it like how he originally planned?

I would like to see what if John Candy played Louis and Eddie Murphy played Winston in Ghostbusters.

What if Sylvester Stallone had played Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop? "Cobra". Seriously. When Stallone left the project that became "BHC", he wrote the script for "Cobra" and based it off of the same idea. My 'What If..." is: what would have been the response if the producers had left Richard Donner alone during the filming of "Superman 2"? "What If..." the original footage of "The Wicker Man" hadn't been lost?

My 'What If..." is: what would have been the response if the producers had left Richard Donner alone during the filming of "Superman 2"? A better movie probably, but still stuck with that STUPID amnesia kiss scene. I mean OK Supes, turns out having a girlfriend that is known as such in public might be a bad idea. Isn't it possible to just let her forget your "human" identity, yet let her know that she rode the Man of Steel? Really if Superman Returns is supposed to be a "loose" sequel to Superman I and II, well the poor girl probably thought she got pregnant because of date rape or something. Superman, you FAIL.

What if the Dr Who television movie (starring Paul McGann) had actually been well written and not a complete affront to Whovians the world over?

What if the script for Citizen Kane never made it to Hurst before the film was completed? Would it have still been squelched and buried the way it was, and would its influence have started earlier thus, since it stayed in limbo until the 1960s, or would it have become "just another film" due to its instant influence?

There was plans of a series of Batman films in the 60s......they should've skipped season 3 and done another movie instead. What if Batman 1966 aired for 10 yrs ? What if Reeve had done 2 more Supermans ? Pfeiffer returned as Catwoman ? Cross or Luner as Poison Ivy ? Voosloo as mr Freeze ? Elvis in Midnight Cowboy ? Elvis/Lee Sting or Bowie as Max Zorin Cilla Presley as Stacey Sutton Welch as Domino Way of the Dragon set in SF or Paris Norris/Lee buddy movie Lee/Nicholson Lee/Arnold Lee/Bronson Lee/Jackie Chan (would've happened for sure !) Lee/Loren movie (Ponti sent some guys over to H.K , Bruce wanted 2 mill to do it) Lee/007 (they used other "hot-at-moment" stars such as Grace Jones , so why not Lee as well ?) Lee/Star Wars Lee/Leone (western natch Monroe/Welch movie (maybe a musical like GPB ?) Monroe on M*A*S*H as a has been star maybe Carrey/Kaufman
