More Foo Fighters, jeeez, why bother anymore?!?! Personally, they could put the entire discography in as DLC, and I'd love it. The Foo Fighters are one of my favorite bands ever AND their music is incredibly fun to play in Rock Band.

Supposed DLC for next 2 weeks
Here's the DLC for the next two weeks:
Week of 11/10 (5 songs):
White Stripes-"Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" White Stripes-"Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine" White Stripes-"Icky Thump"
The Damned - "Smash It Up" Kasabian - "Club Foot"
link - apparently it was on the "podcast"; full details tomorrow (price, etc.)
Week of 11/17 (5 AFI songs + more?):
AFI - "Love Like Winter" AFI - "The Leaving Song Pt. II" AFI - "Beautiful Thieves" AFI - "End Transmission" AFI - "Medicate"
Not really a White Stripes fan, but I may get Icky Thump. Love the instrumental on that.

Oh, awesome. Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground is like, one of two White Stripes songs I actually like.
AFI track pack looks good, though I guess it would've been too much to ask for stuff from Art of Drowning or Black Sails. Or the All Hallows EP.

The AFI track pack looks pretty good but considering track packs seemingly don't exist on the Wii for Rock Band 2 (you have to buy the songs individually), I'll probably stick with "Love Like Winter" and "The Leaving Song Pt. II" for now as I thought their new album was just OK.

Hooray! I got Lego Rock Band today. This, to date, has to be my favorite Rock Band game. The tracklist so far has been real good (of course with a few duds, but that's to be expected). I just did a setlist of "Summer of '69" into "Dreaming of You", then they threw in DLC song "This Is A Call". Simply Awesome. I also like how you can finally CHOOSE who is in your band! A feature that should have been in on the first game, but I digress.
MOST DLC can be played here (with obvious exceptions, remember, this is "Rock Band FOR KIDS!"), and if you put RB 1 on your hard drive, you can play the majority of songs in Lego Rock Band.
The only REAL problem I have with the game is the lack of online story mode. I can understand why, but it is sort of a bummer.
However, the story mode itself MORE than makes up for it. Fighting ghosts to "Ghostbusters"? Yes! And the game's layout for the songs is similar to the dream sequences from Beatles: Rock Band.
All in all, totally worth the cheaper price. Plus, with all the songs transferable to Rock Band 2 (for $10, but still), it's a great deal.

Can you play LEGO Rock Band with just the guitar, or do you need the whole set?

Can you play LEGO Rock Band with just the guitar, or do you need the whole set? Same as any other rock band, just guitar, or any combination of guitar, bass, vocals, and drums. They added a new difficulty for people like MC, Super Easy. I've yet to try it, so I don't know what it is, but i figured Easy was simplistic enough...

No. When you are playing story mode, it does a little video of you doing auditions. You start off with lego versions of characters from RB2, and you can change them out any time you want in the Rock Shop.

Might be the same as the new easy difficulty in GH5, where all you need to do is use the strum.

No. When you are playing story mode, it does a little video of you doing auditions. You start off with lego versions of characters from RB2, and you can change them out any time you want in the Rock Shop. Outside of the auditions, you could do the same thing in RB2's Career Mode. Create a few characters and then put them in your lineup as substitutes so you weren't stuck with the generics. Though you couldn't do this in Band Quickplay, I don't think. I mean, unless there's something fundamentally different here I'm not getting, I just don't see how this wasn't done before.

Plus, with all the songs transferable to Rock Band 2 (for $10, but still), it's a great deal. A word of warning for any Wii players, though. I read IGN's review and they said that the DLC doesn't work for the Wii and none of the songs are transferable with each other. So while they gave the 360 and PS3 versions a solid 7 rating, they gave the Wii version a 5.5 for this alone. Ironically enough, they actually rated the DS version the highest out of all of them. But yeah, unless you really want to play Ghostbusters or The Final Countdown, I'd avoid the Wii version.

Only problem is that works only on online mode. Plus, even then, it's still random.

...sigh... kotaku.com/5425102/early-video-outs-green-day-rock-bandMAYBE if you can export songs (and CHOOSE which ones. I want Longview, dammit!), but still, I made fun of Guitar Hero for picking bands like Van Halen, but Rock Band should just stick with bands that, you know, revolutionized the music industry, not a pseudo-political, pseudo-punk rock band with only a few good songs under their belts (and almost got their asses kicked by Taz).

Okay. So, the big Rock Band 2 box is 99 bucks now, and I might be able to get that. Is it worth it still, and how is the online?

Okay. So, the big Rock Band 2 box is 99 bucks now, and I might be able to get that. Is it worth it still, and how is the online? I would recommend getting the original RB if you can (full release), Lego (it's real cheap now), and, it should go down in price. However, the real "value" of RB is in its DLC. I now have close to 320 songs (including the 20 free downloads, Lego, and the Country Track Pack). I got burned out of most of RB2's songs REAL quick (Everlong, Alive, I Was Wrong, Lazy Eye, My Own Worst Enemy, Our Truth, Panic Attack, and Testify are the only songs I can tolerate now, as they are enjoyable, and aren't oversaturated when I play online with people). Beyond that, its your preference of musical styles. I actually find Lego Rock Band's songs overall more fun to play than any other (even if they aren't exactly "good" songs... the Bryan Adams song was pretty fun on guitar, and the newer "crap" wasn't exactly crap.)

Hey, for once I'm agreeing with KStrick on a music related topic! ;D I mean, I can understand The Beatles: Rock Band. I can kinda understand Guitar Hero: Metallica or even Aerosmith or Van Halen. But Green Day: RB? One of these things is not like the others.
