It's been about four months now. How does the guest host idea sit with you? Yay or nay? I was hoping that the damn thing would grow on me, but it hasn't. I say nay. The guest hosts are usually boring, apathetic, and seem embarrased to be there. They sometimes seem to have no respect for the product, such as Cedric the Entertainer's "I don't want to be like one of these big men in tights."
However, I think that the biggest problem with the guest host concept is that it trains the audience to pay little to no attention to the actual product. My friends used to ask me, "Dude, who is fighting on Raw tonight?" Now, it's "Who is hosting Raw tonight? If it's Celebrity X, I can skip it because I don't like Celebrity X." WWE should be making the audience tune in because the product is good; not because of the celebrity guest host.

It doesn't bother me overly much, but I would hope it's phased out after Mania or something.

It's ok I suppose as long as the host can string a sentence together and knows the names of the wrestlers. The one stupid thing about it though is when they make matches for the following week. Doesn't really make sense.

It has it's ups and downs. To me it works a lot better when the guest host has previous experience speaking to a live audience, not to mention some knowledge of the WWE product. Most of the time it seems the celebs regret the decision to host (i.e. Dennis Miller and Timbaland).

It's a hit and miss concept.

When good: Pretty entertaining television and a fun episode of Raw.
When bad: "Why do I bother to continue to watch this show?"
It's so hit or miss to the point that its hits and misses are completely distant from each other.

I hate it. I wouldn't mind it once in a while (especially with Legends).... but it's horrible and makes me embarassed to watch WWE at times. WWE shouldn't be a 2 hour commerical for B-List celebs...

Given that they've already used most of the big names with any crossover appeal to a potential wrestling audience, they should probably jettison it after Mania and go with Bret as GM.

Big time nay. There were far more bad guest hosts then good ones. The only ones who were any good were the wrestlers (Sgt. Slaughter was the surprise of the year, as I thought he was really good), Freddie Prince Jr, Shaq and Bob Barker was decent. The rest were just awful. Jeremy Piven, Ozzy Osbourne, those nascar guys. A lot of it was extremely painful to watch.
I do kinda wish they would kill it off.

Like everyone else said, it's hit or miss, and so far there have been misses than hits. Bret Hart is the only guest host I'm actually excited about. I think they should drop it after wrestlemania and stick with one GM on Raw.

It been hit or miss I agree. It depends on who the host it on what makes it entertaining. Bob Barker was the best non wrestling related personality to do it. He was great. Others where just not. The Nascar guys sucked because most drivers don't have a big personality.
Jeremy Piven was horrible and not that funny. A lot of the non talent should have been better then what it end up being. Ozzy I hate kind high hopes because he had a character and a look that WWE production could make look awesome. Then he couldn't get wrestlers name right and only said what he was told be someone else with the wispering in his ear crap.

I also did nominate this for the Gooker, as the whole Guest Host concept produced so many Gooker-worthy moments, that instead of picking out one, I nominated the whole thing.

If I had to pick between a heel GM or a Guest Host, I suppose I would pick the Host simply because the evil GM gimmick is beyond played out.
I simply ask for them to freshen up the script. Every week is the same exact thing: Host hangs out with The Bella Twins, has a comedy skit with Santino, usually pisses off a heel or 2, and plugs his latest book, movie, DVD or charity.

I know Ozzy jumped the shark long ago, but him doing crotch chops actually ruins some of his old music. =P
