If TNA doesn't have a segment where Jay Lethal runs into Hogan backstage I'll lose all faith in humanity.

This sounds more like a business signing, than actual in-ring. I would not be surprised if TNA signed Hogan and Bischoff for publicity purposes. I.E., to get the TNA name out. Something Bischoff is good at doing: marketing, advertising.

I hope this doesn't make WWE cancel that Hogan DVD that was due out soon.

If TNA doesn't have a segment where Jay Lethal runs into Hogan backstage I'll lose all faith in humanity. I see this as the only positive so far to signing Hogan. If we dont' get at least one "Mega Powers United" match, I will consider his association with TNA a failure from a booking standpoint.

I find that VERY hard to believe. If Eric Bischoff was only interested in the fun of performing for a large crowd, why doesn't he just go to WWE? He never exactly burned his bridge there. If Hulk Hogan just wants to have one last run, why doesn't he go to WWE? No matter how Vince feels about the guy he can always come back. Whatever TNA Management seems to think, Hulk Hogan wouldn't ink a deal just to wrestle, or just to be some sort of party host for the B fed. And with how Bischoff has been returning to wrestling slowly, they have to be interested in at least giving some very strong advice.

The official TNA announcement on their site...is very vague.
Oh and I think we've got a new photoshop idea.

Does anyone truly believe that Hogan at his age with back, knee, and hip replacement/surgery will be wrestling a full-time schedule? Give me a break. If he is coming back as a wrestler, then TNA will probably use him as a special attraction (think of Hogan's 2005 run with Shawn Michaels). Again, if Bischoff is with him, I'm guessing it will eventually lead to Hulk/Eric making TNA "their" company and Hulk will simply use him name power to get more viewers. Look, I haven't watched a single minute of modern wrestling since 2002 and just stumbling onto this thread has made me interested. Hogan will have that effect on the fanbase. I see two things wrong with this: A)Despite any injury problems he may have, Hogan's ego+Hogan coming into a new company=Hogan's the new champ, no matter how little sense it makes. B)Sure, people know Hogan. Most nowadays know him as a trainwreck joke of a reality star that hasn't been truly culturally relevant since the 80's. It will attract mockery, not attention, at least from outside the industry. I'm sorry, but that is wrong on just about every level possible. A) Hogan came back to the WWF/E in 2002 and only won the title after the crowd turned him face (i.e. Vince trying to squeeze money out of another Hulkamania run). After that he was in the upper mid-card before he faded away. He came back in 2005 and 2006 and was no where near the title. He worked a program with Shawn Michaels (it was the main event only because it was too big of a match not to be) and a mid-card feud with Randy Orton. Where in the last 7 years is your statement about Hogan even remotely accurate? B) Buyrates..... Summerslam 2004 (Benoit/Orton): 0.94 Summerslam 2005 (Hogan/Michels): 1.34 Summerslam 2006 (Hogan/Orton): 1.35 - he was not in the main event but still on the card Backlash 2004 ( ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ??): 0.54 Backlash 2005 (Hogan's return): 0.81 So the last time he was remotely active, his appearances not only drew money for the WWE's PPV's but also surpassed buyrates from the previous year by a huge margin. This wasn't 20 years ago. It was as recent as three years ago. Not "culturally relevant since the 80's"? On what planet is that an accurate statement? I'm not saying Hogan will turn TNA into WCW circa 1995-1998 in terms of profitability, but to suggest he's going to run through the roster and make no impact because his star faded away is ridiculous, IMO. He's not as big now as he used to be, but he's still very well known worldwide.

this might be the moment TNA becomes as big as WWE, or at least closer. i know there might be some booking and ego problems, but whatever happens TNA can only benefit from this point, i mean TNA might suck booking wise so if he screws it up, its not a big deal as most people watch it for the wrestling and since angle and wolfe arnt fighting for title, they should be fine as should the X division. TBH Style is booked as such a meh champion, but i see Sting vs Hogan and who knows im all for Flair coming back and having a little 3 way match in a couple of months. Sting vs Hogan vs Flair would be awesome. C'mon guys Hogan isnt gonna be around TNA too long, trust me TNA will be fine.

Controversy creates cash! And what's more controversial than bringing back the aging icon of wrestling who almost killed himself when his entire family went into ruin?
This rules. ;D

Damn it, I actually liked that Hogan's only involvement with TNA was getting clocked over the head with a guitar by Jeff Jarret.
Hopefully he'll have a business role and nothing more. Please TNA, don't let me down this time.
