The fact that Hulk genuinely believes God punished a young Iraq war veteran for anger issues and social problems, by turning him to a vegetable seems to indicate that he is, indeed, an asshole.

sometimes, you don't need to personally know someone to know they're a douche. Terry Bollea is one of those people.

If you believe there is any correlation between a public person's public persona and their private persona, then statistical extrapolations about the person's private persona, derived from their public persona, are at least somewhat valid.

There is so much ammunition for this case that it's not even funny. If I were Hogan, I would just say "No comment" to just about everything.

I'm a firm believer in personal responsibility. John Graziano chose not to put on a seatbelt, and Nick was driving impaired and driving recklessly. If John had put on a seatbelt he may not be in his position. Nick should have told him to put the belt on though. And maybe he did, but you can't force someone do to something.
And yes Hogan should probably shut up.

I don't know about anyone else, but I for one have enough damn sense not to get into a car with a person who might just be intoxicated. Does it suck that he's left the way he is? Sure. But if he hadn't have been an idiot, we wouldn't be talking about this.

This entire debacle, every little aspect of it, disgusts, disturbs, and saddens me.

Well, in all fairness, I'm going to say that if you survived a car crash that nearly killed your friend, you are going to have issues, and Hogan as your father, is going to want to console you on that. Argueing that God makes good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people is very elementry theology, but in turn very flawed, which is why Hulk is a wrestler, and not a theologian. Hmm, that sounds like a photoshop contest. The Bible as Told by Hulk Hogan. In any case, I don't know any of these people, but as with everyone who doesn't control public money, I am willing to give Hogan the benefit of the doubt,

Question: What exactly does Hogan gain from claiming this guy was racist/homophobic? Does that really excuse the fact that Hulk, not Nick, bought the booze and owned the car?

If you're drunk as well, would you be thinking clearly enough to do that? That'd never happen, as I have enough sense to not even drink, much less get drunk. And if I did drink, I'd have enough sense to make arrangements for my own safety beforehand. And, in any event, being drunk isn't an excuse to do stupid stuff, in my opinion. If a drunk driver can be held responsible for the stupid stuff he does, a drunk passenger can be held responsible for their own choices as well.

He could be the sweetest person around, and you guys act like he is Hitler all over again Having actually known sweet people and seeing how they reacted to tragedy even privately which unfortunately for Hulk this wasn't I can say that I don't think I would call him sweet based on those comments. It's not like someone just decided to make this crap up about Hogan to slander him. He is the one who said it was God's will because of the flaws of this kid, publicly. Once I could understand because maybe he thought there was more privacy to the jailhouse conversation but to repeat it on air is not something a "sweet" person would do.
