Eddie Kingston and Kevin Steen.
They're both fat, and not to be insulting, but I think the reason some fans like them is because it reminds them of themselves. They see someone overweight out there being agile, and they wish it was them. Of course this is just a theory, but either way, I can't watch a match with these guys in it without being disgusted and turned off.
Also, I don't get the appeal of Sheamus.

I dunno about others but I like Kingston for his promoes and humor and I like Steen because it means El Generico's somewhere close But I get what your saying though and felt thats why Bobby Dempsey is so popular

I hate to be "that guy", but...none. There isn't a single wrestler in existance that EVERYBODY likes. I dislike Randy Orton and John Morrison, but I'm not naive enough to believe that I'm alone. So...none.
Sorry, I know it's just a figure of speech, but these type of threads bug me for that reason. None of us are unique in our opinions.

When I clicked on this thread I did so hoping to see someone say Danielson and I was not disappointed. I hear people say they don't like him and i just never grasped what was unlikable about the guy. I don't think his best in the world moniker is far off, so would you mind sharing what people dislike him for? For me, personally, it's 95% his AWFUL AWFUL look. The guy isn't the kind of ugly that gets over, he's just all kinds of weird and goofy looking and it totally throws me off when watching him. His head is giant and his body is weird too. The other 5% would be the hype the guy gets from people when he's done NOTHING on a main stage here in the US. (sorry ROH fans, but not everyone spends money of DVDs of every show) I can admit that he's damn good in the ring, but that doesnt mean I have to like him.

The Rock. I mean, I think he was ok and it was kind of infectious the way the crowd ate up his stuff, but I found his in-ring performance underwhelming and his promos formulaic and mostly unfunny. I never got why stuff like his "George Rockington" promo was so hilarious to people. Just not my sense of humor I guess.

Jerry, sir, I respect your opinion and generally enjoy your posts, which is why this one broke my heart. Please explain what it is about Shawn Michaels that you dislike. Seeing as how he is my favorite at the moment (and possibly all-time, but that changes a lot) I'd like to hear a dissenting opinion. As for mine: Kofi Kingston. I don't hate the guy, and I admit I didn't see the NASCAR beat-down last week, but nothing - NOTHING - about the guy says "main event" to me like it seems to say to so many others.

I'm with you on Kofi Kingston. I think he's pretty good, but I would much rather see Mike Knox, Shelton Benjamin, Jack Swagger, MVP or Cody Rhodes rise to the main event level over Kofi.

Seeing as how he is my favorite at the moment (and possibly all-time, but that changes a lot) I'd like to hear a dissenting opinion. A few reasons, not all of them his own fault: 1. I hate DX and think it is the most embarrassing thing ever ever ever to have been in wrestling. 2. His world title runs (the ones that matter) happen to coincide with the WWF's suckiest period. Furthermore, his gimmick during that time was ... not cool. 3. I very much dislike the way the WWE tries to pass HBK off as an all-time great on the same sort of level as Flair. His career has been nowhere near the level of Flair's. 4. I'm still stuck in the old school/ Vince mentality that a 225lb guy is an IC champ not a world champ. I never bought HBK as a credible world champ. I STILL prefer him from around 1992-3 to later. 5. He's not all that good on the mic. 6. I don't particularly care for his moveset either, although obviously he's a great worker.

When you say his gimmick was not cool, I assume you mean the earrings and the quite ambiguous look?
I just ask because I thought that was AWESOME. Nobody had looked like that before in wrestling and it is still one of the coolest things ever for me.

The only times I have ever found Shawn Michaels to be worth watching were the moments where he got humiliated. Two examples would be Survivor Series 1996 or his feud with Jericho last summer.
Jack Swagger Dolph Ziggler Legacy Matt Morgan Finlay Mike Knox Zack Ryder
All of these guys are boring and I find them difficult to watch.

Nobody had looked like that before in wrestling and it is still one of the coolest things ever for me. It's untrue to say that no one in wrestling before had worn earrings or used a playboy gimmick. You're entitled to you opinion, but for me, the only thing lamer than Shawn Michaels's character in 1996 is DX.

I thought of another one: AJ Styles. I don't get it. He's not charismatic to me, and he is the epitome of the worker who is all flash and no substance. He does a lot of moves that don't make sense. He's not good on the mic, he brings no drama whatsoever to a feud, he doesn't tell a story in the ring...should I go on? He is IMO, possibly the poorest excuse for a main eventer I have ever seen in the 20+ years I've been watching wrestling.

Oh earrings and playboys are staples of wrestling, that cannot be denied, but in the metrosexual, ambiguous way Shawn did it was, like I say, so cool to me at the time and remains such.

The Hardys.
When they came out in flannel/pajama gear, I thought it was kinda cool that the blonde one did a swan dive.
Then Hayes manages them, and they're kinda...Hot Topic. Sure, whatever. That guy still does a cool flip.
By the time they got into the "new Brood" I was completely sick of them.

The Undertaker - This has to be one of the worst gimmicks of all time. I find the whole character very lame, and can it possibly take any freekin longer to get to the damn ring.
Ted Dibiase - I could just never get into him in the MDM character.

Nobody had looked like that before in wrestling and it is still one of the coolest things ever for me. You have...odd taste. He just looked like a gay stripper to me. He dressed like one of the village people twenty years after the fact. Walk into a leather bar or a gay pride parade and you will see a lot of HBKs walking around. Not that I find that offensive or any such nonsense, just...for a wrestler, dressing like an even more flamboyant Mr. Slave isn't something that strikes me as cool or appealing. It worked for him as a heel, but when he became a face I still hated him and thought he was annoying. I didn't like HBK until he came back after his back injury. Even to this day he just has this heelish aura to me where I root against him the majority of the time, although that has cooled a bit for me. In situations where he is supposed to be a heel, like against Hogan or Cena, this works because even though I do not like either of those guys I wanted them to win in both situations.

There's a few 'lower' end guys that I don't get the love for...
Elix Skipper is one. When he showed up in WCW, he could pull off a few impressive looking moves but seemed uncomfortable with wrestling basics. All these years later and it's still the same.
Consequences Creed is another, for the same reason.
