Batista did an intrview were he talked about his future and also ripped the younger wrestlers:
[Forecasting which young WWE superstars will break out is a common theme of press interviews with veteran wrestlers, but in the case of a recent interview with Batista, the outlook was pretty grim.
“We’re dinosaurs in this age of instant gratification. We are not just athletes, we are also storytellers and I don’t see that in the newcomers,” says Batista in an interview with the Manila Standard Today.
And Batista does not plan on offering his storytelling prowess for ever. If ‘Big Dave’ has his way, he will be “fat and retired” in five years. If he still works for WWE, he anticipates it will be in a behind-the-scenes capacity.]

The chance of Big Dave lasting five years in the ring is pretty slim given his past injuries.

Dissing the talent isn't just encouraged , it's allowed it seems. The Undertaker's gonna have words with him over this....

Doesn't sound too bad, he's a top guy saying what's required to be a top guy. If any newcomer is smart they will listen to what he says. He's basically telling them to step it up, which isn't a bad thing.
Batista is always willing to help out the younger guys anyway.

You know, at this point, Dave, thanks to these interviews, is becoming the freaking T.O. of Smackdown. It could be in character, but why would anyone green light an in character comment of "our young guys don't know anything"?
Leave it in the locker room, Dave, it'd probably be received better that way.

Yeah... because YOU'RE a grizzled old vet of the territory days. Shut the hell up Batista, you're a body builder that didn't even get into wrestling untill his mid-30's.

And what kind of stories is this roided up jag-off capable of telling, by the way?
I got a feeling that he'd have a hard time getting through "Goodnight Moon".
F'n douche.

All of a sudden, Triple H bringing Sheamus up to the main event scene isn't a bad idea...maybe he knows what a liability this guy is and is trying to replace him somehow...

You'd think after ripping the then Smackdown roster back in early 2005 he'd have learned his lesson.

And what kind of stories is this roided up jag-off capable of telling, by the way? Well, he did a memorable job of conveying that Rey Mysterio was supposed to be his friend. Of course, the irony here is that Batista has only been in the business about as long (if that) as many of the young guys he's griping over. And that he's practically the archetypal "large body builder who gets into pro wrestling to make a quick buck and gets a big push over the guys who actually have talents other than looking like a chiseled slab of granite". And that he, well, sucks.

Of all of the "vets" in the locker room, I think Batista has no room to talk. Now the Undertaker and Jericho, I could understand. But Batista? Come on . . .

I'm going to have to side with my fellow Crappers on this one. Batista has no room to talk. He isn't a veteran in the business, as he's only been there for a few years. Sure, he's in his 40's. But, unlike Taker and Michaels, he hasn't been with the business for over 20 years.
Not only that, but he hasn't told that many good stories in his career. Most of the time, the only reason his feuds are memorable are because of his cheesy delivery.

Why exactly is he not allowed to say this? Considering none of the ''Young Talent'' has managed to get into the ME as fast as Tista with fan support(Sheamus) that pretty much confirms he's got something going for him that they don't

Why exactly is he not allowed to say this? Considering none of the ''Young Talent'' has managed to get into the ME as fast as Tista with fan support(Sheamus) that pretty much confirms he's got something going for him that they don't Because Batista is claiming to have been in this business for a long time and knows the ropes. Does he know how things go down? Yes. Is he one of the many experts in the back? No. He may have found success in the WWE, there is no denying that. But, you can deny the fact that he's had a huge impact via storylines and promos. To state that the future is in trouble because the new talent aren't good at cutting promos and telling stories (which is debatable) is asinine. Take a look back at when Batista was a newcomer in the WWE. He wasn't good on the mic, either! Newcomers learn the ropes on how to cut promos and tell a good story in time, not immediately. To judge their future status by their rookie careers as of right now is ludicrous.

Considering none of the ''Young Talent'' has managed to get into the ME as fast as Tista with fan support(Sheamus) that pretty much confirms he's got something going for him that they don't While some have mentioned a lack of experience on his part, my argument remains that he has shouldn't have done it in the same way that a malcontent in any major sport who rips into their teammates in the media rather than keeping it "in house" also is making a major mistake. Respect is earned, and can be lost very quickly. Look at other vets that do mainstream interviews, like Trips for example. He will discuss the positives in the interview, and leave the negatives for behind closed doors. By taking it to the media like this, regardless of how the question was phrased to him, big Dave has most likely managed to lose respect with not only the young guys he's ripping but also some of the vets who handle business like this in a more personal manner. He has every "right" to say whatever he chooses, but, if you rip a teammate in public are they really going to go out of their way for you when you need them to?
