Well, they're stuck with him until he decides to step aside, they put Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, he bombs, and they bring Jay back again. Repeat until they finally fire Jeff Zucker. I know one thing. Jack Donaghy never would have let this happen on his watch. He'd probably somehow put Tracey Jordan as the host. Which would be both the stupidest thing ever and the greatest thing ever.

Craig Ferguson would be awesome on the Tonight Show, but he wouldn't know how to handle a sidekick, a band, & decent lighting! If he did it, I would have to demand that Wavy Crocodile be his go-to sidekick. "Whatado Everybody *waves*" = Best Catchphrase Ever! Pssh, screw the band. Just keep this on hand at all times: I am proud to be a member of The Robot Skeleton Army. And we need to get a battle between Wavy and Skip Sheffield at WM27.

Ya know after seeing this and all the stuff he does with puppets I wouldn't want Ferguson on NBC, mainly because he probably wouldn't be able to just be funny and random like he is now. So I'd rather have him stay on CBS and be himself than go on NBC and have a stripped down show. And yes, "whatado everybody" is awesome! I also love his cover of Mmm Bop with all of the other members and the puppets, BEST. OPENING. SEGMENT. EVER! ;D

They gave up a younger demographic for their old one. I always thought that the number would have to be much more significant to make this worth it. Oh well, not like everyone involved won't be put to pasture with a sack of cash if it is the failure it looks to possibly be.
Hell Conan got some nice start up money for whatever project he plans next. The more I think about this I'm glad it all happened. Conan is more the kind of guy to pave his own way. Sucks that they crushed his dream, but I'm sure he's the kind of guy that can re-imagine and reforge that dream somewhere else to better fit him.
Conan has always been ahead of the curve and Leno more the comfortable old glove. Shame they couldn't have figured it all out sooner. Seems like NBC has really gone to hell over the last decade and such poor foresight and desperation from the top is the real embarrassment.

Hey Jay, care to start spouting off about Conan's ratings again? Leno is such a jackass. I hope this whole ordeal just completely derails his career. I think it already had, its cost him a good chunk of his younger audience and plenty of people now flat-out refuse to watch his show. I think he is boring. I am not entertained by his dated jokes about President Clinton etc.

I'm curious to know how Nightline is doing. After Johnny Carson left, that show was doing better ratings than both Jay and Dave.
I would think by now, with TMZ, Showbiz Tonight, Entertainment Tonight and all the celebrity gossip shows, the whole idea of a late-night talk show is really moot at this point.
I like Jay. I think he's funny. That's my opinion. But I don't care who's on the show, I watch the monologue and whatever bit they do: Headlines, the 99-Cent Store, Jaywalking. But, I've done that since Johnny was running the show. I don't care about the celebs unless it was somebody I really, REALLY wanted to see.
If NBC really wanted to shake things up, just cancel the Tonight Show altogether. It's completely meaningless.

I'm one of the people who dislikes Jimmy Fallon with a passion, and was irked when he of all the people in the world was chosen to replace Conan. But I have to say he is doing insanely better then I expected. He's fairly charming with a down to Earth nice guy personality, does well with the guests, has pretty unique ways to interact with them. He also has some of the most original skits I've seen in a while, a lot of them genuinely funny even thought they're so out there. This show made me go from hating him to really liking him.

The only late night talk show I ever watched with regularity was Conan, and it will continue to be that way.
