For a thread claiming that Hall has "officially" signed with TNA, there is a distinct lack of TNAwrestling.com linkage.
Not saying that Hall isn't being brought in, but I think we're still at the "educated guess" stage and nothing official.

With Hall, Nash, and Hogan on the competition, Vince coaxes Bret Hart out of retirement to keep control of the Monday night ratings!
It's 1996, baby, and I for one am not at all sorry to see it back.

Scott Hall used to be my favorite wrestler when I was in high school 10 years ago. I used to think he was the coolest dude on the planet. He just partied and made tons of money and didn't care who liked him and who didn't. I thought he was the coolest dude ever. Then he kept disappearing from WCW TV for months on end. He'd come back, win the tag and US titles and leave before losing them. Then he was almost World Champion but got hurt. That was a pretty disappointing end to him in WCW considering what a draw he was.
Then he went to WWE and lasted about 4 months and was let go for falling asleep backstage. I was let down.
Then he was in TNA for a little while in the Elvis suit.
Then he came back and left before he could even get his "next run" together. I was let down.
I don't know, Scott Hall has had more second chances then anyone in wrestling. He never got to where he should have been because he stood in his own way and everytime he tries to come back he blows it. I just don't have too much faith in him anymore and I don't think there are too many of his fans left that do either. I don't know why TNA is giving him another shot after what he did last time they had him. Nash and Hogan must have really went to bat for him. I'm all for them bringing in XPac, it's been too long since he's been gone and I think if he can still wrestle then he could do some cool stuff. All in all though, I just have a feeling Hall is going to once again let his dwindling fanbase down.

Also,
if this were 1996 Shawn Michaels or Sid would be WWE Champion, not Sheamus. Hogan would be facing off against Piper next week and everything in wrestling would be pretty much the greatest thing ever until next week.
It's definitely not 1996.

We've a firey, red-headed monster arriving in the main event scene to face McMahon's smiling, whitebread #1 babyface, a guy who the kids and ladies squeal over while the "smart" fans are getting sick of seeing him booked to be so dominant. Pity Vader never got the belt. And hey, the Hulkster's bound to be feuding with someone at least as old as Piper before long.

Yes, it's true.
Personally, I like SortaRican's suggestion for a Nash/Hall tag team name.

TNA are so committed to the idea of the Jan 4th show being utterly surprising, though, I could see them not announcing anything.

Anyone taking bets on whether or not he'll actually bother to show up to all his bookings?

If I were TNA management, I would have a meeting with Kevin Nash. I would tell him to watch Scott Hall and make sure that he stays with TNA. I think Scott Hal could potentially be an asset to TNA, but he is too unreliable. If anybdy can influence Hall it would be Nash. I would have Nash's career in TNA depend on Hall's reliability. Who cares if this is unethical,; it would be smart for TNA to go this route with Scott Hall.

It wasn't long ago that WWE main event pushed Ric Flair (nearly 60), and people kept going on about how his WM match was one of the greatest of all time. Not all people thought so HBK walked Flair through that match and even then he still botched it a couple of times. Besides the only reason he was talked up was cause at the time he was doing to Vince andTrips what he is now doing to Hogan sucking up. Now this is gonna sound harsh but will Hall be able to stand upright when he does his promo's. Now with Hogan and Hall and Nash in TNA I guess the Disciple and X-Pac cannot be far behind.

The emotion did play a huge part of the HBK-Flair match, much like with the first Rock-Hogan match.
I don't think there's going to be that kind of connection for a guy like Hall, there certainly won't be the kind of massive audience watching it that could bring the same atmosphere either.
I have to say, I'm not actually against Hall getting to appear on tv again. I just think TNA will, long term, not get what they hoped for.

I think the reason we are criticizing TNA for signing Hall is because how many times has Scott been in TNA and it has always ended badly.
