I imagine there are lots of people who still think they use fake blood. Best explanation I heard was they got chicken blood tubing on the forehead. I'm was like what. Then she said I think they pour chicken blood on the face. In which I said that doesn't explain the visible cut that is bleeding or the scab. Her response. It's prosthetics.

I would think that one look at Ric Flair's forehead would be enough to dismiss the idea of "fake blood."

My favorite WTF thing is actually a total opposite:marks who think it's all real. I saw on a WWE forum after Owen's death and one guy thought the ministry of darkness killed him. Not that Owen's death was fake, but literally that Undertaker murdered him as a sacrifice.

When I was little and was watching my brother and sister would always talk about how fake it was. After my first live show they asked if we could tell how fake it was in person (my mom and I) and my mom said she was suprised that no one got hurt because it all looked so real.
I have un into the ocasional person who thinks legit injuuries are works.

Chicken blood of all things.

I heard someone say Taker almost breaking his neck at WM 25 was fake, and that he was in no real danger. Its like, dude, even if he did land on a mattress, the human body cant land like that with no harm caused. People just get ridiculous.
I guess it does kind of show how amazing these guys are. They do things that most people would be like "there's no way they could do that and not get hurt", and they do them night in and night out, year after year. They are some of the toughest athletes on the planet...

I once talked to a few people who were convinced that Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Vince murdered Owen because they were still angry at Bret. They had this entire conspiracy theory all mapped out. I was so disgusted that I just had to leave the conversation. People are idiots.

I kid you not, I came across people that thought Taker's pyro accident was done with "fake fire. Nothing they do is real." It's f***ing ridiculous how ignorant some people can be. DDP put it best: "You can't fake gravity."

I had a teacher aide in elementary school who talked about the wrestler Kane as if he was an actual example of a burn victim.

The exact situation you describe happens to me almost every time my mom watches Smackdown.

Oh, yes. The injuries. My parents both assume a lot of the injuries (The ones bad enough to put someone on the shelf) are worked. But this one makes me laugh.
Whenever either one of my parents finds out someone's injured, the typical response is "Guess he needed a vacation".

Do you show them the graphic surgery footage WWE usually shows of the surgery and pictures and the permanent visible scars they have after their "vacation?" Like that scar that Cena has on his neck after his "neck surgery" and how it's always the exact same size and never moves?

I never cease to be entertained by how much effort people think the wrestling industry puts into deceiving people. "Fake fire?" CGI falls? Letting people into "fake rings?" Man, you have to wonder who is getting worked more - the people who think it's all real or the people who think nothing is. Oh, yes. The injuries. My parents both assume a lot of the injuries (The ones bad enough to put someone on the shelf) are worked. But this one makes me laugh. Like that scar that Cena has on his neck after his "neck surgery" and how it's always the exact same size and never moves? I'm sure that people would say that's all pre-taped fake footage with horror movie style effects, and that everyone's scars are makeup.

My younger cousin was a fan at one point (He still seems to respect it and doesn't mind it, at least I don't think), and while at one point, he enjoyed it, and seemed to like the Foley/Orton match, after that, he started talking like an ignorant non-fan. He started to say this, and this is the same as comments I read on Metacafe when that match was on there: The thumbtacks are fake and the pins fold when they get on your skin and have blood packs on them, also the part about fake thumbtacks and gluing to one's back. That has to be the most ridiculous thing I've heard. There's no such thing as fake thumbtacks. I still have yet to hear of such an invention. Also, blood capsules on the "fake thumbtacks"? Those things are so small that I don't think that much fake blood would fit right into it, not to mention the pin being there.
By the way, the post about Lesnar winning the UFC Heavyweight title, that's the thing I despise about MMA fans. I like MMA, but when it comes to the fans, they are too gung-ho about being anti-wrestling and always starting wars with wrestling fans. Plus, you should've seen a while back on the IMDB board of The Ultimate Fighter. This one guy criticized a guy for also being a wrestling fan and claimed that he wasn't a "true MMA fan".
Also, I remember my parents showing me that awful "Wrestling Secrets Exposed" special on NBC a long time ago when I was 12. I even tried telling my dad about the fall that Foley endured and believed that there might've been a trick behind it. Also, he even believes that EMTs who come out make it look like the person is injured. Sure, I am well aware that EMTs, cops, etc. are most of the time local indy workers, but in any other case, there have been real injuries and usage of real EMTs. It wouldn't surprise me if people thought that the injury Austin went through after Owen Hart gave him that piledriver was just great selling.

A friend of mine tried to tell me last year that they have the tables rigged so that they break before the wrestler is thrown through them. He said that all the tables wrestling uses are like that. I then asked him "Really? How do they do that then Spencer?" and he couldn't give me an answer.

I imagine there are lots of people who still think they use fake blood. My older brother was a casual wrestling fan. One day, we got into a discussion about pro wrestling. Here's what he believes: a. The blood is produce by blood capsules smashed at the right times. b. The chairs are plastic molded to look like metal. Those 10 head shots Foley received in 1999? B.S to him. c. Whenever someone bleeds after being hit with a chair, it's because there's a tack hidden on the part which hits the wrestler. What's even weirder is that he's a fan of guys like Eddie Guerrero, and yet some of his beliefs are hilariously wrong. Now for a story about myself: Remember Triple H's first quad injury? I was watching the episode of Raw where that happened with my older sister and a few friends of ours. When he tore his quad, we all thought it was a part of show and since none of us liked HHH we laughed our asses off. When he didn't show up the following week, we thought it was because of the story. It wasn't until several weeks later that I realized that he was really hurt. I felt really bad about laughing afterwards, but at the same time the show seemed to improve. I wasn't the most mature teenager. Another thing: Until 2007, I thought puro was completely real. Nothing disappointed me more than to find out that the winners weren't legit, just like everywhere else.
