I really don't understand why the WWE would keep this around, even from a merchandise point of view. Making a new title belt means making new title belt toys which means kids will want the newer version.
Beyond that, the belt is overwhelmingly gaudy and needs to be destroyed IMHO.

It's 5 years old, and 5 years lateer, I still don't like it.
It just looks so tacky. Like something a low rent backyard fed would use- CHAMP, big fake jewels, lump-o-f-scrap-metal shape.
And as already said, a new, better, belt, would equal increased sales, as kids with the current one would want the new one

The fact that people like the ugly plain worn out looking Big Gold Belt and hate this one confuses and always will... Maybe because the big gold belt actually looks like a championship belt? |

Agreed, the Rated R belt was awesomeness. Funny that the belt that was designed for Cena, but has very little Cena specific stuff on it is crapped on from all corners, but the Edge version of the belt which replaced the WWE logo with Edge's logo and other than that WAS THE EXACT SAME BELT gets showered with love. Which further's my suspicion that the hatred of the belt has a lot more to do with who it was designed for than what it looks like. |

What does the spinner look like? Lets see it has a leather strap, a giant gold front plate with smaller plates on the sides. Has the name of the champion, and the company logo on it. I could see how one could be confused as to what it was... |
