Supposedly Jessica Alba was/is attatched to the CH remake, but I'm 99.9% positive that's just a rumor. I don't think there is anyway that Jessica Alba would be okay filming the final revenge scene. And I agree, there is no way they would be able to get away with filming anything like CH, especially the animal killings.

There you go again, TR, killing the thread. No, just kidding. Sometimes not a lot of horror related things are going on, so we gut lulls. For me, I've been busy with WoW and I left my job recently and can't really afford to buy the excellent blu-rays/dvds schedule for release (pirahna, galaxy of terror, Slumber Party Massacre Trilogy). Still I come to resurrect the thread with something (I hope) hasn't been posted: Salon's 10 must see vampire films. I hate to say I've only seen three (Near Dark, Let the Right One In, and Nosferatu the Vampyr). www.salon.com/entertainment/movies/film_salon/2010/07/02/vampire_movies_twilight_fans_should_see/slideshow.htmlYou have no idea how much I marked out seeing Marebito on that list. Weirdly enough, I'd never even considered it a vampire film before. We've talked the movie over quite a bit in the past (well, me and Rorschach have, anyway), and suffice to say that movie is an absolute must-see. Never seen it sadly. Just another film I have to find I suppose. So they're trading in the horrors of the jungle for the horrors of bad acting?

So I went to the Film and Comic Con in London this weekend and got a chance to sit in at their "Horror Talk"- the first one of the day. It featured: L to R Tom Morga who played Jason* in Friday The 13th: A New Beginning and Michael Myers^ in Halloween 4 Leslie Hoffman, stuntwoman who played the hall monitor in NOES ("Where's your pass") Mark Bryan Wilson who was Slimer (uncredited) in Ghostbusters as well as working on the marionette scene from NOES 3 *Jason in the hallucination scenes and Roy's stunt double ^Only in the first few scenes as the part of Myers went to George Wilbur in the end. The talk only lasted half an hour but was very interesting. It got off to an awkward start as nobody asked any questions for the first half minute or so, mainly because I don't think anyone knew who they were so each had to give an introduction.

I wish the tendons (or whatever those are) behind the eye were red instead of white. Otherwise; that's a really cool poster. Very eye-catching (no pun intended).

Reminds me of the Q&A session Tom Savini did at my college one year. It was awkward because most of the people that were there weren't very familiar with his work (aside from the role of Sex Machine in FROM DUSK TILL DAWN). I knew who Savini was all too well, but wasn't particularly knowledgeable about the Industry itself to ask anything particularly interesting. But it was still a cool time. Especially considering that, before the Q&A session, Tom was in the cafeteria. He spotted my copies of FRIDAY THE 13TH and DAWN OF THE DEAD and came over and autographed them, and then we talked a little while and had cheesecake. ;D

Well, I can take a small level of comfort knowing that the original director, Ruggero Deodato, is attached to the CH remake.
On a somewhat related note, I was wearing my Chris Hero "Bloody Superman Logo" shirt the other day, and when asked by a Target cashier what my shirt meant, I said "Cannibal Holocaust. It's a great movie, you should watch it. You'll thank me later."
So, you know, doing my part to spread the word.

Ahhh, the benefits of pre-ordering a movie directly from the studio. I just got The Prowler on Blu-ray in the mail today, almost a full week before release. Can't wait to see it in high def.

I hear the transfer is excellent, Guy, and is much better then the dvd version. I have the dvd already so I'm kind of iffy on the double dip, but it sounds like Blue Underground hit it out of the park again. Can't wait for Maniac in the fall.

Pretty cool new image from the Piranha 3D movie. BD says that it's a spoiler on whom it is, but I can tell from the movie who's living and who's dying. I'll tag it just on the safe said, plus it's a pretty gory image. Loving the gore though. {Spoiler}
