Amazing how Oklahoma only went 8-5 last year and yet they still have a top 25 pre-season ranking this year.....
Granted the only reason they went 8-5 last year was cause Bradford and Gresham went down...and they still don't have those guys this year cause they went to the NFL. 'Bout the only real change with this year's team is Landry Jones won't have the deer in the headlights look he had last year. I just hope he doesn't throw as many wild passes as he did last year. And I mean DAMN did he throw some wild passes last year.

I think Florida will rebound well and be a great team, but I don't know about Top 5. Lower Top 10 for me. Brantley does have a hell of an arm on him, I'll give him that. But I can see them ending up just like LSU a year ago. Very high preseason pick, doesn't live up to expectations, but because they're in the SEC and because they're the Gators, they never seem to drop in the polls no matter what.

They had their worst record in the Stoops Era since Stoops came to the team, lost most of their big play makers to the NFL draft both on offense and defense, and yet they STILL have a top 25 ranking? I'm calling bullshit on that. I mean, sure, I'd be fine if it was a low top 25 ranking, like say in the #15-#25 range, I could possibly see that, but a top 10?! With one #1 vote?! Did these guys see the same team I saw last year?

Apparently a lot of people are projecting Oklahoma to win the Big 12 South this year. And considering Texas is due for a down year, it just might happen.
Glad to see my Noles in the polls, but I won't hold my breath after they underwhelmed last year.

Baylor always has a down year, and I can't really read Tech or Oklahoma State right now, and both are unknown quantities to me this year. Really, if I would pick any team in the Big 12 South to win the division this year, it has to be Texas A&M....seriously....

The North sucks balls, Nebraska aside, so they'll win that, and nearly all of the South is expecting a down year this year. That's what happens when 3 of the best offenses in the conference are absolutely gutted by the NFL draft, so this is Nebraska's year.

Yeah, I don't see how Oklahoma could be put ahead of Nebraska and Iowa. Hell, I'm a Husker fan, and I think Iowa should be ahead of us in the polls right now. But not Oklahoma.

Iowa is my biggest gripe of the polls. I'd put them over Florida, TCU, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.

Iowa is my biggest gripe of the polls. I'd put them over Florida, TCU, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Odds are Iowa will jump them during the season anyway. Florida will most likely go down to Bama, OK to Texas, and TCU of course because of their schedule. Not sure about Nebraska, I'm about 50/50 on them taking the Big 12 title from Texas.

Hopefully, LSU's offense improves this year(Specifically the offensive line).

Also, are people forgetting about the Religious schools in Texas, all three of whom could be bowl teams, if not the best teams in their divisions.
TCU: Returns 7 starters from the best defense in the county and their QB who led them to a school record in points.
SMU: Back from the Death Penalty, they could be a player in C-USA this season, 8 wins isn't out of the picture, nor is a C-USA title
Baylor: Ok this one is probably the long shot of the group, but as already said The Big 12 South is down. Baylor is getting back QB Robert Griffith, who is probably the best athlete playing FB in the county. an all-american in track, here are Griffith's career numbers. 14 career starts, 2600 yards passing 19 TDS 3 INT, Rushing a shade under 1000 yards 15 TDs. Now, if he were playing anywhere else he'd be a heisman candidate, but since he's at Baylor no one is talking him up. It could happen folks, I'm just saying.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier has indefinitely suspended tight end Weslye Saunders for "breaking team rules." Spurrier told The State.com that this has nothing to do with "Hotel Gate."

I actually kinda expect Baylor to go 6-6 this year and squeak into a bowl game if possible. I mean anything more than 6 wins is kinda pushing it, but they COULD do it.

Preseason polls are asinine anyways. It's based entirely on name recognition and built to help promote certain match-ups. Ideally, there'd be no polls until at least the fourth week of the season.

I hate to say it, But with the Crap with Big Red. If it comes down to Them vs Land Of thieves in the Big 12 final then I will back the the thieves. I do not want to see Big Red run away with the tiltle to Big 10.

Mel Kiper called Randall Cobb of Kentucky the best overall player in college football this year on ESPN today apparently. Glad someone is giving the guy his due.
