Perfect use of Hogan tonight, and the fans were all over it too. I haven't watched the show yet, but from reading Dave Meltzer's report on the show, it seemed like the crowd was dead for everything, including the stretcher job with Jeff Jarrett. So the crowd wasn't as dead as Dave made them out to be?

NO!
Meltzer can be a major idiot at times, and this is one of the times. Hell, they popped when Hogan walked out to help the EMTs get Jarrett to the ambulance.

So the crowd wasn't as dead as Dave made them out to be? They were dead for some things(Global Title, some of the X-Div. Title, some of the Wolfe/Abyss match & some of the stretcher job), but they were alive for most of it, esp. the last few matches, Hogan confronting Sting & even the KO match.

Eh, even the Global title match had the fans more into Terry than I've ever seen before.
As I said, Meltzer can really be an idiot at times.

Eh. It was a PPV-by-numbers really. It wasn't awful, but nothing really stood out or made it must see.
I cannot stand Abyss.

Sounds like an alright PPV, but I was hoping both Jeff/Anderson and RVD/AJ would be better. Sounds like they were just missing that spark...hot crowd perhaps?

Most likely, it's hard for you and you're opponent to work well together when the crowd is being mostly silent and indifferent. It can cause you to mess up and be lackluster. Which I'm a bit surprised since how popular the four are you think the crowd will be reacting better to it.

That's the thing.......crowd wasn't silent.
I don't get where people are thinking that. It was silent in spots, but they were really loud most of the night.

I watched the PPV and had a really fun time. The crowd was really good for an impact zone crowd. I thought the event as a whole was awesome and built really well towards Slammiversary.

Anybody that saw Anderson/Hardy knows the crowd was NOT dead. You couldn't stop them from chanting. They were alive during Psycrow Sting's beatdown on Jarrett as well. I don't know what show Meltzer was watching.

I have read a few reports from people at the show saying that the crowd was dead for most of it and only got into the show after people backstage came out and gave away backstage passes during the backstage segments which is new to the PPVs.

There's quite a few reviews which make reference to the crowd either being dead, or being more focused on amusing themselves rather than following the show. It's certainly not just one writer. Anybody that saw Anderson/Hardy knows the crowd was NOT dead. You couldn't stop them from chanting Making noise does not mean they were following the show. If they're just chanting for their own amusement, it adds nothing to the PPV, and actually detracts from it.

This PPV sucked, because I expected to see a goat slaughtered live on the air. Silly TNA and your silly false advertising.

Anyone who thinks the crowd was dead obviously didn't watch the show... or they watched it with the "Mute" button on.

Anyone who thinks the crowd was dead obviously didn't watch the show... or they watched it with the "Mute" button on. Well to be fair, the guys who said the crowd was dead, like donners, said they read in reports that it was dead, so they obviously didn't watch it.
