Not sure TNA's booking deserves "appreciation" for a title-switch that came out of nowhere. I guess this is them following Bischoff's old strategy of getting more attention with the old "ya never know what might happen!!" strategy.
As for RVD being more over and more of a draw than AJ, I guess we'll see. If next week's ratings are up, I'd say that's true. (But I don't think they will be.)

Thank you TNA for giving me a wrestling show that doesn't feel like it's running in .33 speed and doesn't put me to sleep. No kidding. I switched over to Raw after Impact was over, and the Swagger/Undertaker match looked like wrestling in slow-motion.

I think if it was anyone other than RVD, this probably wouldn't be getting an appreciation thread. It's just because he's a lot of people's favourite wrestler, or one of them, and that means that the 'chase' to get back to the top of a company is finally over for RVD and a lot of people.
Just can't help but think though people have been cheated out of a sweeter moment. Imagine building an RVD win up for a couple of months before he finally gets to the top? Now his moment has become 'just another moment' that's going to be one of many moments they try and use to try and spike a rating and prove that 'anything can happen', rendering the moments meaningless in comparison to something that could have been built up.

I switched over to Raw after Impact was over, saw that Undertaker was about to face Jack Swagger, and changed the channel again in order to avoid the inevitable ending.

The biggest question is, where do they go from here? They could do like last year, and have a four-way in the main event of Sacrifice with everyone "sacrificing" something if they lose.
RVD - The World Championship Abyss - HOF Ring Sting - His career again AJ - Ric Flair as his mentor
Then at Slammiversary they could put the title up for grabs in the KOTM match. Or they could make the winner of KOTM the #1 contender, and have the RVD/Sting match (which they've been teasing for awhile) as the main event for Slammiversary.

The booking has been horrible. Unadvertised title switch on tv with no build is good booking? Joe's been kidnapped, missing for weeks and his big return is to help out a team that's already coming off a win against the same team they just beat? That's good booking? The whole point was Joe destroying who was in his way, not helping Team Hogan. If it helped them, that's the breaks. We'll find out next week what happened to him. In his way from what? He was announced as a mystery partner earlier in the night, and then he got the pin for the team. How is this not helping them? You make it sound like it was run in or something. You really think this was a good pay off for taking a guy off tv for months? His big return is for an inconsequential throwaway multiman rematch?

The "payoff" is the return of the Samoa Joe that isn't a bitch. It doesn't matter who he destroyed. Before he disappeared he was a loser. Couldn't beat AJ, couldn't beat OJ! And of course theres still the matter of what happened to him, which one could assume will be revealed in the coming weeks. And considering Bischoff was involved right before he was kidnapped and in his return, he ties into it somehow.

I don't know you, but I'm going out on a limb and say you could.

So far this is the best Joe's been booked in like a year+. But I don't have a lot of hope it won't fall apart like everything else he's been in of late, but the fact that they're trying to make it seem like he's "the old Joe" gives me a bit of hope.
