Surely Danielson would have only choked Justin Roberts if he was told to do it, seems kind of strange.

ok - so - can someone clarify a few things for me.
The first I heard yesterday was that this was a worked firing and all part of a storyline to push Danielson. When did this turn from a work to a shoot? How do we know that Mattel is behind it? Is there still a possibilty this is all still one big work?
I don't really watch WWE anymore. just TNA and the indys for me. But after Danielson debuting I thought, you know what, I'm watching, I've followed this guy for 8 years, if it means watching WWE to continue following this amazing wrestler - I'll watch the E. Part of me feels bad for the guy that for all he's done in this business, he won't ever really get the chance to wrestle on the big stage. But another part (as a fan) is glad that he can now go back to ROH or sign for TNA and continue to wrestle the way he wants (like Desmond Wolfe/Nigel McGuinness) and not some watered down PG style of Daniel Bryan.

@ T-Mac.
Everything (and i mean everything) besides WWE wishes Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) well in his future endeavors is speculation. No one knows anything besides the fact that he was released.

According to a couple of other wrestling forums, Meltzer's rumour is In other news, the mystery sponsors also want: - Edge rechristened as the Rated PG Superstar, seeing as being Rated R has been deemed too, well, Edgy. - Luke Gallows to cease rubbing CM Punk's shoulders as it promotes homoerotic undertones that would make children uneasy. - John Cena to cease making "butt" and "poop" jokes as they are too explicit for the children. - Chris Jericho and other bad meanies to smile more often to promote themes of peace, love, and understanding. - All WWE Superstars to cease using all forms of wrestling maneuvers immediately and begin to work through their issues using peaceful and cooperative problem-solving.

Pretty much. I mean if you believe a certain wrestling news site or another you'll probably lean one way or another and many theories have been stated. But as for facts, Danielson was released.

Here's my two cents.
I think it's a work (it has been said they want him back in the future) and that Cole go him fired. I've read how they want more "real" story lines. In this day and age if you want real, you actually have to go through with him. So that's my theory until Raw on Monday when we see what Cole says. If he's so excited that Bryan is gone then I think he was fired to help the storyline. We all know that if he wasn't fired we would have find out 2 minutes after that it was fake. I know it sounds really out there but we can thank the internet for ruining wrestling and finding out everything 2 minutes before it happens. If down the road we find out this is a work, then it was awesome.

I don't think Meltzer was implying that someone insane did this to Bryan. I think he was implying that there is something going on within the WWE right now that we don't know about that would should be way bigger than this. Why he doesn't fess up, I dunno. He's been paid to keep his gob shut by The Network(tm)?

According to a couple of other wrestling forums, Meltzer's rumour is I will guarantee you there will be no change to Undertaker's gimmick. It's one thing to fire a low-end employee to please a sponsor, but there's no way Vince is going to scrap the Undertaker's gimmick. It. Will. Not. Happen.

That Meltzer rumor stinks of newz; I don't even remember the whole Mattel thing being presented as anything but a rumor, but bringing up the Deadman gimmick and Punk's SES thing reeks of just trying to piss off IWC fans even more.

It's more than likely newz (I'm not an observer subscriber, so I don't know if Meltzer actually said this), but the possibilities are endless: * Randy Orton has undergone psychiatric help and no longer hears voices in his head. He is now a calm, mild-mannered young man in business slacks. * When he returns to action, HHH will no longer spit water in his entrance (spitting=bad). He will instead spend two minutes on the ramp brushing his teeth in order to promote good oral hygiene. * Lay-Cool will now tell their opponents that they "look really pretty today" before every match. and so on...

I haven't listened to the latest audio, but on the one they did yesterday Meltzer doesn't say who he's talking about. All he said was apparently there is a similar situation to Danielson's going on in the company with a much bigger star than Bryan Danielson, but it's even more stupid and would "boggle your mind". Everyone else is just trying to guess who it is, with Orton, Punk, and Undertaker being common guesses.
There might be a number of reasons for that level of vagueness on Dave and Bryan's part, though I expect the Meltzer/news site critics on this forum to have a field day ripping into them. But I'm just reporting what he actually said as a lot of misinformation is getting spread in these Daniel Bryan threads.

Good to see some of the wild ass rumors some of posters made up yesterday pick up steam over the IWC. All this proves is none of the dirtsheet writers have no good connections backstage anymore. From TNA going 3D to Mattel got Dragon fired, the whole community is in the dark. I love it. It's like the early days of the internet. Everybody making claims and stories up just to see who will believe it.

If The Undertaker has to scrap the Deadman gimmick, he can easy enough be reborn as the leather biker Undertaker (which won't piss off the IWC - almost the opposite) Getting rid of the SES gimmick shouldn't piss off the IWC, unless Punk is 2D and can only be a holier than thou better than you preachy prick heel.
