If she was indeed severely drunk at a WWE function and she continued this behavior after they told her to knock it off, then I'm okay with them firing her. It sucks because she had a lot of potential and its another blow to an already dilapidated Smackdown women's division, but its no the first time something like this has happened.

So what if Serena was talented & had potential? That isn't the issue. She got s***faced in public while sponsoring the company and they canned her for it. Seems fair to me. You can have all the talent in the world, but when you do stuff that is against company policy you are going to get punished. For the most part, in the IWC, it's not about if you're a f***-up or a horrible person, as long as they believe you're a good worker. ESPECIALLY if you're paired up or otherwise associated with an IWC Favorite like Punk, DBD, etc. You could be a saint, but if you don't meet the IWC's standards, GTFO. If you're thought to be a high-level wrestler, you could molest and kill their mother and/or wife and they'd still love you. Ya I don't see to much love for Beniot. Read before you post shots at everyone.

You guys are pretty ridiculous. Seriously it's no loss at all. She didn't do anything that any other chick couldn't have done, she was mostly useless. Not much talent, zero mic skills and an IWC look. So basically pretty much the same as Eve, Kelly Kelly, the Bellas, Rose Mendes and Alicia Fox yet they seem to remain employed...
Serena at least had an interesting character and a unique look. Her drinking and not been straight edge could easily have expanded her character more and made her more interesting if done right. Except they haven't gotten falling down drunk in public on tour to the best of our knowledge. If what the rumors say are true, Serena ****-ed up, and has only herself to blame for getting let go.

She's married to the Chosen One. And beat him up. "i'm sorry but i have a note from Mistah McMahon that says that incident never happened. Drew Mcintyre is still undefeated in the marital ring."

If it affected her performance and the company felt that her drinking was going to have a detrimental effect on whatever image they like to obtain or they have, especially in the PG era, then they were within their right to fire her. I have my doubts about the sexism thing unless there is proof that it does happen at the company, but since I don't work there, I don't know. Wasn't Chavo Classic fired because he was drunk at a company event?

That's the Breaks.
Sucks that she made all those sacrifices in order to get to WWE. But she knew the rules and still broke them. Maybe she will get another chance down the road but for now Serena needs to work on her issues.

Damn CM Punk and his politicola powers. I want it to be revealed that Punk was the one that complained to management about her drinking, in effect getting her fired, just to see the complete 180 of most people on this board. I'd laugh so hard if this happened, Punk would be the straightest edge guy ever, and it would be awesome

I would like to think she'll get a second chance. She's still only 24 and has a long way to go in the business.
Hopefully she saved her money over the last 7 months.

If your bosses tell you NOT to do something and you do it anyway, then you're just an idiot, I'm sorry. Total truth. That may be true, but there's something about management types that make them...ask you to do stupid things. So if your boss asks you to do his laundry, behave like a chicken in public when you're not working, and asks for sexual favors from you...it's your fault for not doing them because that's not what you're comfortable with? How is that sane in any form? I have had a real problem with the WWE trying to reclaim kayfabe by making wrestlers behave a certain way in public. You don't see movie studio heads getting PO'ed if an actor isn't in character all the time outside of a movie, so why is WWE held to a similar constraint? This has already had, IMO, a negative effect with someone like Nick Dinsmore, with his having to be Eugene all the time in public. That's going to wear on anyone. If anything, Deeb falling off the wagon actually works for her character, as we've already seen a couple months ago. And why fire her, just kick her out of the SES, let her start wrestling, and start filling out your roster some. They're real thin at the Diva division, they need some warm bodies. But I suspect because she's not "Playboy material", they deemed her expendable. The whole thing's ridiculous, and between this and that aborted Diva tryout thing, shows there's a real problem in WWE towards women and their role in the company.

But I suspect because she's not "Playboy material", they deemed her expendable. The whole thing's ridiculous, and between this and that aborted Diva tryout thing, shows there's a real problem in WWE towards women and their role in the company. You can't just simply use the "Jay Leno Effect". That is, promoting someone instead of firing them for not doing their job. I agree that there is a serious problem with how women are treated, and Iwould love nothing more than to see them treated correctly. Let's use the Nexus for example. I think it was reported that there were instructed not sign autographs or talk to fans. If say Justin Gabriel went out and signed autographs, did interviews without the request of upper management, then he would deserve the pink slip. The same case is applicable with Serena. From what I understand, she was told to live the straight edge gimmick in public. She didn't adhere to that, and now she's be fired. On top of that, she may have potentially made an embarrassing display of herself, which doesn't fit the company's clean image. That's just as bad as showing up to a company meeting drunk and expressing let's say some attitudes that don't fit the company's image. Now it might be stupid to say kayfabe is dead yet at the same time enforce, but that's not the issue. The issue is Serena was apparently fired for her inability to not follow her orders, despite the fact that she had to make great sacrifices to land that position. And movie actors and wrestlers are completely different. An actor has to live a role only for the camera, so the audience is either at a movie theater or home watching it on DVD or something. With wrestlers, its more of an art form. You have to pretend that your character is your very way of life. Its a very strange line to cross, but I don't think it applies to actors.
