Like alienfan69 said..he needed an Agent. Someone who would have been his mouthpiece while he went along destroying everyone in his path. Because without one he had zero charisma and too much of a tiny voice to cut a promo. He was good on Smackdown..but it all went downhill when he went to ECW and was shoved down everyone's throat. After his feud with Cena they really had nothing left for him.

Well, he would have been good if he hardly ever talked. He should have been used like Goldberg where he hardly ever talked or if he did he should have only said a few words. His voice is his biggest weakness because it doesn't sound intimidating at all. He sounds like a 10 year old boy.

Honestly I never cared for the guy and still don't. He never really had what it took in my book.

The guy could have been something if they had the right guy be his manager much like Paul Heyman for Brock when he was first coming up. All in all I think that Lashley was greatly mishandled by WWE but its not like he would have been anything awesome either.

He was a decent hand, but his voice was the death of him.

The only thing remotely scary that he's done is the phone call you get in SVR 2008 which just sounds like him whacking off and then laughing. I wish I could find a vid, but It made him sound like a rapist or something.

I've heard of "dropping the ball" & "missing the boat," but "dropping the boat" is new to me.

Yes, yes they did. World's biggest 10 year old would have been the greatest gimmick since the undertaker!

No, but they may have missed the ball with him.

If they gave him a manager and/or a speech coach they could've done more with him., but I don't they missed out on a future hall of famer or anything.

I remember non-fans noticing Lashley because of his physique, 'did you see that huge black dude on wrestling?!'
Not that I'd ever think he'd be great, but the 'E had a freak show attraction at least with Bobby.

I personally don't believe in managers in this day or age, but Bobby Lashley shouldn't have talked much during his WWF tenture. I really liked him on Smackdown when he was feuding with Finlay, save the promos, and he had his own little thing going as US champion. However, putting him on ECW was a bit silly. Lashley's own nature isn't extreme, and he was eating up badly by ECW smarks. His feud with Mcmahon didn't help and he was fed to Cena at the end. Was he mishandled in the WWE? Yes, because WWE wanted to recapture their own Rock or Austin without creating their own original talent.

Lashley dropped the boat on himself tonight. But yeah, he was a decent wrestler. If he had sticked around, he would probably be one of their very biggest stars.

When myself and my friend Matt(who's a 100 times more of a passionate and knowledgable pro-wrestling insider than I am, he routinely travels from Manitoba to various US locations for ROH, TNA and some other indies, He doesn't make a hog alot of $$$ being a cook, no girlfriend, Pro-wrestling is his wife) met Bobby Lashley in 2006 we both agreed we are meeting a future world champion.
I was hoping for a heel turn when Lashley faced Cena. Bobby a big heel with a manager(or Valet/Diva I can't imagine who?) or in some kind of stable I would have liked to seen.
How would Lashley winning the title(Woot! Woot!I liked the guy, he was cool) from Cena but in a screw job way or outside inference Lashley is unaware of, making the pin, stayng a face work? I wonder what Cena would do to get the title back? Anyway just a thought about how to put the WWE Title on Bobby Lashley.
Do you think a more Bret Hart-type legit athlete style wrestling gimmick would have worked better for Lashley?

I think what would've worked was for him to be Vince's child...it would've been some continuity.

I've never actually seen a bradtherad post this completely coherent.

Would of been cool if Bobby and Lesnar were a tag team on their debut. Apart from that I didn't really care for the guy. I just starting to get back into wrestling too.

I've never actually seen a bradtherad post this completely coherent. Yeah he's brilliant though. His predictions in the World Cup thread were a sight to see as well. He got pretty much every result wrong time and time again and never seemed to to change his outlook on his predicting skills. He became more confident with each mistake. You have to admire a man like that.

Much to Bryan Alvarez' dismay, it was not a golden boat.
