I can totally see Kurt Angle getting pissed about this, going to the game, and applying the Ankle Lock to Bret Favre on the 5 yard line as time expires in the 4th, helping the Saints win. Then Mr. Angle and I are going to have some serious problems. As far as the lack of Impact....well, I understand why TNA is doing it, but I don't completely agree with it. If its not airing due to Vikings/Saints, then they should of had the foresight to talk to Spike and schedule it as a "special" Wednesday night Impact. After all, its not like the NFL just announced the date. Everyone has known about this all summer. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

It's understandable, but it's crummy timing with them missing one of the BFG build-up shows and more importantly a post-PPV show.

I can understand if they don't want to air Impact on Thursday next week but to not air Impact at all is silly.
They should maybe air Impact on Friday or Saturday night then.

NFL wins 10 times out of 10. No big deal.

I don't watch football, and neither do most wrestling fans I know, this is stupid, Wrestling is an alternative to other shows on TV and I have to miss it because a different show is on? Wrestling fans and sports fans are 2 different people, Im sure there's a few carry over fans, but not enough to punish your whole audience. I know a few girls that like football, does that mean Lifetime won't air anything that night? The main demo for wrestling is the 18-35 (or what ever the male age range is) and NFL kills in that. Where do you get that most wrestling fans aren't NFL fans. I think a sizeable portion if not more then 50% are sports or NFL fans. If someone could pull up last year's number against opening night we could compare.

^Agree. Also allthough missing a week or tv post ppv is bad not as bad as putting up a .68 and losing half a million viewers. Good move TNA

Most of the reasons why this is ok would make sense if THE BIGGEST PPV OF THE YEAR wasnt next. I know they arent on WWE's level but never would Vince give up a week of hype before Wrestlemania. Hell the real buildup starts at Royal Rumble or before. We know it will be the tournament final for the title but what else are they building towards? Team Nash/Sting vs Jarrett? Fortune vs EV 2? Some kind of match for the Beautiful's people's theme song? Maybe Abyss vs Hardy? Does this sound like a great show for TNA? Moving the show would make more sense for just 1 week. A .6 would be bad but isnt a 0.0 worse for a wrestling company that cant sustain any kind of ratings growth?

IMPACT PREEMPTED NEXT WEEK, BUT TNA WILL STILL KICK OFF ROAD TO BOUND FOR GLORY PPV by Mike Johnson @ 10:40 PM on 9/2/2010
TNA Impact will be preempted next week by SpikeTV, but TNA will still present a special online "Kickoff show" for the Bound for Glory PPV on the official TNA website. TNA President Dixie Carter and several other TNA personalities will be featured in interviews and/or taking questions from fans.

So there won't be any Impact at all next week? IMO that is a really dumb move not to air Impact at all especially coming off a PPV.
