Either "The Constant" from Lost or "Parricide" from The Shield.

Luck of the Fryish is amazing. But the one that for me is probably the most influencel as far as "Animated Shows" go is the last episode of Dinosaurs. First time someone tried something with established family characters. HM: Last episode of Babylon five, and Seinfeld-The soup Nazi.

Blink from Doctor Who is, in my opinion, the best episode of television of all time. Screw television, the best thing recorded onto film

"In the Pale Moonlight" from ST:DS9. An incredible episode that takes Star Trek to its darkest and most intriguing place and raises some of the biggest questions in the history of the franchise. oddly thats the episode that defined DS9 and setit apart from the wishy washy-ness of the others (you can tell its Ronald D Moores work though ) the phrase "People are dying every day and here I am debating the finer points of morality" just highlighted what was going wrong with shows like Voyager..the federation was alwaysportayed as fine upstanding people and always taking the moral high ground though it was one of those episodes where Garak once again steals the show, the Stephen McHatties Senator..yeah

"The Kipper & the Corpse" from Fawlty Towers. That episode belongs in the TV Hall of Fame.

The Luck of the Fryrish from Futurama. Especially the very last flashback in the episode gets me every, single time. futurama and simpsons have some very good touching episodes. Also another great futurama episode where fry found the fossil of his dog and didin't want to bring him back to life because he thought he would've forgot him but the dog never left the pizza shop. i cry everytime i see that one

Well..since my choices have been heralded already how about the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode 'The Zeppo' as someone who has felt more than a little useless in his lifetime this episode really hit a lot of chords, and it was funny seeing (well NOT seeing) this epic battle that was going on from the sidelines.

Also, I have to give props to Luck of the Fryish as well. I can't believe I forgot that, that episode blew me away. I hadn't seen an episode of any Groening show that worked as well emotionally as well. For some reason, the emotional episodes of Futurama just work better than the Simpsons ones.

Hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna jump mine up to a top three:
1) Doctor Who - "Blink". As previously mentioned, my pick for the greatest episode ever made. Perfect to watch without ever having seen the series, brilliantly established and acted characters (the lead actress from this episode went on to be nominated for an oscar a few years later), the scariest monsters I've ever seen and a time travel plot that both messes with your head and makes perfect sense. 2) Community - "Modern Warfare". In the first two minutes, a goofy comedy about college transforms into a post-apocalyptic nightmare brought on by an out-of-control paintball tournament, and manages to STILL stay hilarious. The episode is great because everyone gives 200% to selling the idea. 3) Human Target - "Salvage and Reclamation". I love this show, but I wish every episode was as good as this one. In a full on homage to romantic adventure movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone, the regular characters are mostly thrown aside for an incredibly entertaining new cast and a dynamite story that could've been expanded into a feature length movie and I wouldn't have minded.

The last episode of Life on Mars was brilliant, I've talked about it loads on here so won't bore anybody again (UK version).
"Blink" and "The Luck of the Fryrish" run it close though.

My vote from the stuff that remains is Twin Peaks pilot episode. Recently speaking, I'm not going to lie: I watched The Walking Dead pilot 4 times. As a huge TP fan, and as a huge Psych fan, my full fanboy support in this topic goes to the latest episode, "Dual Spires" (and the fact that they threw in the 'white horse' at the end of the OP): My intelligent response would probably be the LOST series pilot. I'll hafta check out this Walking Dead show of yours since you have similar tastes it would seem!
