I haven't watched an episode of this show in like ten years, but for some reason maybe a year ago I watched a new episode (must have been realllllly bored) and the entire thing was just sad.
Nothing was funny. They threw in just about every "hip" reference they could about iPods and other stupid crap.
Just made me remember why I didn't even like the show when it was good.
I remember back in the day when they would crib from stff like Citizen Kane back in the day. That stuff was actually funny and well done. Nowadays it's shoehorning as much current s*** as possible. Like the Katy Perry appearance for example. The only f***ing reason that was made was because of the Sesame Street incident.
Plus that whole Martha Stewart segmant was terrible.
No real Simpsons fans give a horse's ass about s*** like Sesame Street or Martha Stewart.

Well, there are A LOT in the recent years. I'd say (on the new episodes) about 80-90% of the jokes are just awful. For me at least.
Two that really stand out are Bart/Principal Skinner having a Prawn and Peanut fight in the style of a Lightsaber fight, and Lisa and Bart having a battle (complete with dragons) with Mailmen, I think. Just absolutely awful "jokes" that dragged on and on. Made worse by the fact that Simpsons was always kind of realistic, and these two "jokes" were not at all. Sherry Bobbins got away with it because that episode was fantastic, these two segments were just painful.
