Because I think the guy who recovered the ball landed on the ground. In college ball that means he's down. Which is a rule that the NCAA needs to change. Oh, I certainly agree. Arkansas had the go ahead touchdown, but because of the rule, they couldn't get it.

Everyone knows that situation is a crock. Not shocking coming from the NCAA though. Its nowhere near as bad as Cam Newton though

If I'm Arkansas, I'm really pissed the NCAA allowed the Ohio State players to play. And the guy that made the pick, is one of them facing a 5 game suspension next season. Everyone knows that situation is a crock. Not shocking coming from the NCAA though. Give me a break the only crock is that they are being punished for selling their own possessions. Meanwhile the starting QB in the national championship game was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars and he is still playing. Look on the bright side if Arkansas wants the 2011 Sugar Bowl trophy then I'm sure our players will be happy to sell it to them.

There all serving their 5 game suspensions next year. Arkansas should just be straight up pissed that they lost, not that they didn't get to face a less than 100% OSU team. Considering how injured the OSU secondary was by halftime, Mallet really should've been able to pick them apart. Of course, his WRs would have to learn to catch first.

lol, Ohio State is Chris Jericho at the 2002 Rumble.
To defeat a team from the SEC it took a half dozen wide open dropped balls, 5 illegal run ins from suspendees, and their feet on the ropes.

I said it (albeit not on here) before the game and I'll say it afterward, this game was utter bullshit. Pryor and the other Buckeye players suspended next year shouldn't have played. The fact that they did is crap. And maybe I do have bias because I root for U of M football, but I'd say it regardless of what team it was. I'm not necessarily for Arkansas either. I'm for Mallett based on his Michigan days, but absolutely and forever against Petrino for how he left the Atlanta Falcons literally in the middle of the night. But if I'm Arkansas, I'd be royally pissed right now about those Ohio State players playing tonight. Then again, the NCAA is a bunch of bullshit in general (see Newton, Cam), so nobody is surprised.

So if Adams caught the TD, Ark would've won, WOW I'd really hate to be that kid. I don't think Ark is as forgving as Boise lol

Sure they broke the rules just like Cam, but unlike the rules Cam broke, the OSU guys broke a stupid rule. It is their own property, so why the hell can't they sell it regardless how they came into possession of said items?

Can someone explain to me why its such a huge deal the suspended OSU players played tonight?
They sold their stuff. Yes, its illegal but it does nothing to affect their performance on the field nor does it tarnish the school in anyway. Newton was (allegedly) payed to attend Auburn so I could understand his suspension, but OSU itself did nothing wrong here.

Honestly, I would've given the award to Heyward. That man was an absolute monster the entire game, even after he got hurt.

And for the record,I would've been in the thread supporting you Gotch but I don't like to post online when a big game is on because I'm afraid I'll say something and jinx the team I'm pulling for. I know that's stupid but that's how I am. If I'm watching a game with friends,I don't say much until the game is over if a team I want to win is playing. If it's two teams I don't care about,I'll gladly joke around. Glad the Buckeyes won though. They aren't my favorite team but when I was around 10 or 11,I wanted to go there because I heard they had a good veterinary school. I used to wear an OSU sweater around all the time and just started supporting them as long as they weren't playing WVU or Marshall.

Over/Under 5 Years From Now Pryor is an NFL flop and has to sell this award too? Pryor won't be an NFL flop, but he won't be an NFL QB either. Pryor is going to end up being like Josh Cribbs. He'll be a great kick and punt returner and also a WR/utility wildcat man.

Over/Under 5 Years From Now Pryor is an NFL flop and has to sell this award too? Nah, he's got too much raw athletic ability to be out the league that soon. I could either see him being converted into a WR (he's actually got pretty solid hands) or being a backup for a while. Then again, if someone like Andy Reid were to get a hold of him and teach/train him for a few years, he could make something of himself.

Newton was (allegedly) payed to attend Auburn so I could understand his suspension, but OSU itself did nothing wrong here. Well the big stink, at least from what I've seen is, why should they get to play in the post season bowl game for their team when they've broken the rules. Making them miss games next year means jack when most of them are juniors or above and thus can declare for the NFL draft and leave Ohio State in the dust whilst flipping them off along the way. I mean sure, they had to promise their coach that they would commit to returning to OSU next year and miss their first 5 games, but let's be realistic, they could've lied through their teeth. Pretty much, what I'm getting at is making them miss the Sugar Bowl could've been, for a few of the players at least, the only way to make sure they were punished. Instead these guys were basically allowed to have their cake and eat it too, as they got to play in, and win, the Sugar Bowl, and if they want to, can declare for the NFL draft and go unpunished.

They face a 5 game suspension if they don't enter the NFL. If they enter the NFL Draft, then there will be no suspension. Arkansas played a team with 5 players who were ruled ineligible, but still allowed to play. Hey Reggie Bush's infractions didn't affect his on field performance, but USC had to vacate a National Title because of him being ineligible. Now you've got 5 freaking players on one team, and they're allowed to play. And Ohio State won't have to give up the Sugar Bowl victory. USC has to be pissed as well. I agree that Cam shouldn't be playing.
