Outside of the BCS Championship Game Bowl games are no more than post-season exhibitions with cute names. If they want to make a real statement...suspend them for the first five CONFERENCE games next season. That's a real punishment. 3 of them may be, but the other two are Miami (FL) and Michigan State. Nether of those two are exactly pushovers. MSU got crushed by Alabama because I still believe that 'Bama was the best team in the nation and MSU just isn't at their level. Miami will be a strong up and coming team next year as well. Also, why specifiy conference games? Five games is still five games. It would be unfair to the players and the entire team to allow them to play through some of the cakewalk games and once the games become very important to sit them. The NFL doesn't suspend players for only divisional games when they do something wrong. It usually the next four games, whether their all against teams like Carolina or against teams like New England.

It may seem that way to us, but technically those are still regular season games. OSU is just lucky they're not facing a Texas or a USC in their second game like they've done in the past.

Ladies and gentlemen, your front runners for the National Title next year, the Stanford Cardinal. Andrew Luck is coming back, even if Harbaugh leaves, Luck returning has to make them the favorite.

Rare kid who actually enjoys the college experience enough to not go when the money is guaranteed. Good for him choosing happiness.
Plus it doesn't hurt that the insurance taken out on him will be out of this world, heh.

As long as he's fine with the fact that he'll be making around $60 million less declaring next year than if he declared this year, good for him.

NFL teams don't schedule games against the Canadian Football League early in the season like FBS teams schedule against FCS teams. There is a difference.

As bad as the Big 10 have been in bowls the supposedly "superior" SEC has only won bowl games they have played against Big 10 schools and not even all of those.
