So Sajoa Moe recently asked me about the all time MLB team thread I did awhile ago. That's been lost but I think it's time for an update. Different rules this time: 1. This will not just be my opinion. I will seek input from all of you via this thread, or PM. 2. Players must have AT LEAST 1 full year as a starter on their respective team (this is known as the Ivan Rodriguez rule ;D) 3. We do not talk about Fight Club.
Arizona is first up alphabetically. Here's my "ballot" C-Miguel Montero 1B-Conor Jackson 2B-Jay Bell 3B-Matt Williams SS-Stephen Drew LF-Luis Gonzalez CF-Steve Finley RF-Justin Upton
SP-Randy Johnson SP-Curt Schilling SP-Brandon Webb SP-Dan Haren SP-Miguel Batista (barely over Omar Daal)
Closer: Jose Valverde

Looks about good to me. Not really any other guy who you could say has to be on the list I don't think.

I guess if we're all in agreement, we can go onto the next team, the Atlanta Braves (includes Boston and Milwaukee teams) :
C-Javy Lopez 1B-Joe Adcock 2B-Bobby Lowe 3B-Eddie Matthews SS-Rabbit Marrinville LF-Chipper Jones CF-Dale Murphy RF-Hank Aaron
SP-Greg Maddux SP-Warren Spahn SP-Cy Young SP-Kid Nichols SP-Tom Glavine
Closer-John Smoltz
That rotation is just insane. I had to leave off Phil Neikro and Lew Burdette.

Man this is going to be hell for the older teams in the league, especially teams like the Yankees, A's, Cardinals, Red Sox, Dodgers, etc.

They have had some great players. Chipper jones could easily be in there

It shows you how scary Atlanta's pitching has been when you list John freakin' Smoltz as the closer.

I wouldn't be able to leave Chipper off. Could always put him in LF.

I might have swapped Dale Murphy for Andruw Jones if it wasn't for the back to back MVP's. There numbers are actually very similar. Looks good so far. Anxious to see the Cubs.
