Just broken on Twitter as filed to ESPN - Harbaugh is expected to sign a five year deal with the 49ers.

I have never in my life seen a coaches value inflate at such a ridiculous rate. This whole thing has been absurd.

Impending free agent Terrell Owens wrote on Twitter Friday that he "would love" to play for the Rams in 2011.
The Rams considered Owens last offseason, but passed for fear of locker room distraction and perceived decline. T.O. showed that he has plenty left by averaging over five catches for 70 yards with nine TDs in 14 games with the Bengals. Still, the 37-year-old will likely have to wait until all teams exhaust the draft and priority free agency before getting signed.
The Dolphins are expected to discuss a "contract adjustment" with coach Tony Sparano after publicly embarrassing him with heavy pursuit of then-Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh.
49ers agreed to terms with former Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh on a five-year, $25 million contract that makes him San Francisco's next head coach.

So let's say that Harbaugh doesn't pan out, where would that rank him on the "college coaches that failed in the NFL" list? Given his asking price, I'd say it'd rank him #1. Regardless I hope he works out for the 49ers to get some stability at coach there.

Honestly, I think T.O. would be a nice fit in St. Louis. That team NEEDS depth at wide receiver, and even an aged T.O. is better than their entire back up receivers corp.

Lou Holtz also had a failure of epic proportions.

St. Louis needs to run far, far away from him. He came in to a good team in Cincinnati, made them adjust what they did on offense FOR him, and he ruined them in partnership with Carson Palmer. Sam Bradford never needs to be exposed to that cancer.

T.O. may be in good shape and can still play, but why would any team even bother giving him another shot? Even the Redskins aren't dumb enough to sign him.

Sign a receiver in the offseason, Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, and Vincent Jackson are all available. Then draft a Justin Blackmon or a Julio Jones and you're done. You've got weapons at receiver.

You've got weapons at receiver. I don't think Blackmon's going into the draft. And Edwards, Holmes, and Jackson have their own special type of problems. So any way you slice it, if the Rams want to get any help at receiver in the offseason, they will be grabbing a player with some kind of attitude problem, or in the case of Jackson, a time bomb that only goes off when he decides he wants more money.

I think Harbaugh will do fine on the 49ers. He's no stranger to the NFL, after all. Not that it automatically gives him a pass as a head coach on a professional level. But I think he'll do better than other coaches who have essentially spent their entire lives in the college system.
Still, that's really overpaying for him. And Frisco has more problems than a coach, like finding a good quarterback. I would hope they draft a decent young rookie QB and hire a veteran who can sort of teach him. I think Donovan McNabb would do well in gold and red. And do a lot to help re-establish the NFC West as anything besides the jokes of the league. I think them and the Rams with good WR's could be real threats not only to that pathetic division, but also legitimately good football teams.

Playoff Picks:
Saints annihilate Seahawks - Seahawks won the NFC West by sucking less than everyone else in that division. The game they played against the Rams for a playoff berth was absolutely pathetic. The Seahawks didn't win that game. The Rams out-lost them. Even with a fractured defense and Matt Hasselbeck QBing, I'd be surprised if the Saints don't win this by at least a two possession differential. The Seahawks are a miserable 3-7 against teams not in the NFC West (one of those wins was against the Panthers; nuff said).
Colts beat Jets - Probably a closer one than it should be. The Jets are not as good as their record suggests. The Colts are crippled with injuries and a real loss of depth. Still even without some of their best weapons like Dallas Clark, the return of Joseph Addai I think will be the difference. It gives the Colts a running game back, and never count out Peyton Manning, especially at home.
Ravens beat Chiefs - The Chiefs have done some remarkable things this year, but I think the Ravens have the best defense in the NFL. I think the Ravens are potential Super Bowl contenders. Sure their offense isn't the greatest in the league, but this is also a team that completely shut down Tom Brady and his offense last year. In Foxborough.
Packers beat Eagles - I didn't pick this one lightly and I think it could go either way. Both teams aren't without faults. That said, Rodgers is an incredible player and has done a lot to keep his team in the hunt even with injury after injury. And Vick is Vick. I just think the Packers D will do a better job containing the Eagles than Eagles D (who honestly aren't that great) will do containing Green Bay.

Would it be nice to have AJ, as a Georgia fan oh hell yeah. But would rather have someone who can throw the ball the the wide outs and maybe keep the offense on the field for longer than 3 downs. Because no matter how good your defense is, they can't stay on the field the whole game and expect to win.
