I never noticed how Jim Harbaugh's head is a perfect rectangle.

New 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed at his introductory press conference Friday that he will install a West Coast offense.
"We will install the West Coast offense in San Francisco, birthplace of the West Coast offense," he said. As noted by Rotoworld's Chris Wesseling, the "West Coast" actually began in Cincinnati when Bill Walsh was a Bengals assistant. Regardless, the system typically involves a power run game (Frank Gore) and an accurate, nimble passer (Kevin Kolb? Matt Flynn? Josh Johnson?). The 49ers' biggest offseason priority will be finding a quarterback capable of executing the scheme.

Sign a receiver in the offseason, Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, and Vincent Jackson are all available. Then draft a Justin Blackmon or a Julio Jones and you're done. You've got weapons at receiver. I don't think Blackmon's going into the draft. And Edwards, Holmes, and Jackson have their own special type of problems. So any way you slice it, if the Rams want to get any help at receiver in the offseason, they will be grabbing a player with some kind of attitude problem, or in the case of Jackson, a time bomb that only goes off when he decides he wants more money. If the WR core can manage not to have 3 starters out with season ending leg injuries next year, it should be just fine. St. Louis' roster is built young, with veterans tossed in who mostly mentor the younger guys while not chipping in at key spots. I'd want St. Louis to grab a shutdown corner high in the draft to bolster the secondary and then grab a LB/WR in the second round. Julio Jones will be a great possession guy, but the Rams need burners instead of another possession guy. Just my 2 cents.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that the Dolphins have extended head coach Tony Sparano's contract through 2013.
The new deal is an apology from owner Stephen Ross after he put Sparano and his coaching staff in a week-long holding pattern while trying to replace them with Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh didn't want to go to Miami, so Ross is back stuck with Sparano. Sparano is expected to serve an "expanded role in personnel decisions," while attempting to repair his relationship with the owner and GM Jeff Ireland, who both turned their back on him.

T.O. may be in good shape and can still play, but why would any team even bother giving him another shot? Even the Redskins aren't dumb enough to sign him. Oh, they're dumb enough to sign him. They just don't have the money after the McNabb and Haynesworth contracts.

Denver looking at John Fox, I wouldn't mind it at all. I think he got dealt a bad hand in Carolina, what do Carolina fans think he'd be like here, having seen him coach every week?

Brother of NFL star Ed Reed missing after jumping into river to elude police, says mother
ST. CHARLES, La. – St. Charles Parish deputies are searching for the brother of NFL safety Ed Reed, who according to his family jumped into the Mississippi River while trying to elude police.
It’s a sad situation Friday night, as family members gather on the levee, waiting for the man to resurface.
Deputies said they they watched the man go under the water and disappear in the cold Mississippi.
St. Charles Parish deputies and East Jefferson Levee Board police spent the day waiting and watching on the banks of the Mississippi River.
They say a St. Rose man, identified by family members as 29-year old Brian Reed, jumped in the Mississippi River near the Kenner – St. Charles parish line.
“The suspect jumped into the river, went about 15 feet according to the deputy,” said Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, a spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. “At some particular point they said he did witness hands and head come up and go under the water and never resurface again.”
Deputies say Reed stopped his car on the side of River Road. His car matched the description of a vehicle they say almost ran another driver off the road.
Deputies later determined Reed may have been driving a stolen car.
LaGrange said just as officers were cuffing Reed, he took off running.
“A chase was involved. The subject actually ran across the levee and the levee batcher with the deputy in chase,” LaGrange said.
Family members and friends also gathered on the levee, hoping Reed will somehow resurface alive.
“He was a good person,” said Karen Reed, Brian and Ed’s mother. “He kind of had a little run in with drugs and stuff. He had kind of got off it. Other than that he was alright.”
Karen said her son was driving a family member’s car.
“I’m hoping he’s not in the water. If he is it’s going to be up,” she said.
LaGrange said the temperature of the water was around 40 degrees.
“That’s not a good situation for anytime,” he said.
Karen Reed confirmed the missing man is the brother of Ed Reed, a standout defensive back at Destrehan High now playing for the Baltimore Ravens.

I think he counts on lucking out as far as talent goes because he is not a very good head coach. So I honestly don't think he was dealt a bad hand in Carolina as he was extremely stubborn and is not one who I would trust to be a judge of good talent. Maybe as a coordinator, he would be good.....but not as a head coach and guy who needs to lead the team.

I think that the Saints/Seahawks game will be closer than most think. The Saints are missing some of their RBs and there will be rain/snow showers to possibly help slow down the Saints passing game. They should still win though.
