ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Raiders have informed Tom Cable that they will not pick up his $2.5 million option to return as head coach in 2011. Lets see huge improvements, 6-0 in the division. Yep seems like a good time to get rid of the coach Al.

The New York Post suggests "there is growing support within the Giants organization" to re-sign Plaxico Burress after he's released from the Oneida Correctional Facility on June 6. Bad move. Giants are fine at WR... when they're all healthy. Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, and Mario Manningham are fine. Maybe if he's a returner specialist, but again Hixon fills that role nicely... when he's healthy. If we need any changes on offense, we need a new coordinator. Someone who's far more flexible and a bit more simple on routes. And someone who can work with the offense on reducing turnovers. Those complex routes he had Eli and off-the-streets replacement WR's contributed significantly to the number of INT's the Giants had this year. And his refusal or inability to adapt the offensive playbook any shows his ass needs to go. The Giants have all the talent in the world, they just need to stay healthy and compensate properly when they don't.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Raiders have informed Tom Cable that they will not pick up his $2.5 million option to return as head coach in 2011.Ex-Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden is not considered an option to replace coach Tony Sparano, according to the Miami Herald's Jeff Darlington. Um' Al, Cable led your team to their first ,500 season since 2002. Al wanted to keep Hue Jackson and Cable wanted him gone. When Cable called the plays in 2009 the offense scored 16 Touchdowns. In 16 games. Hue took over calling the plays this year. Jackson is the new coach.

Al is high on all kinds of things. Here is a thought Al maybe your offense did so well this year because you weren't crippling the coaching staff by forcing them to start your golden boy J'Bust.

Niners make it official and name Trent Baalke the GM. Per the San Jose Mercury News, Harbaugh remains the heavy favorite and he has "signed off" on Baalke as general manager. Barring a last-minute surprise, Harbaugh is expected to be named head coach on Wednesday or Thursday.

I could be absolutely insane because I know how bad they are, but I am calling for the Seahawks to beat the Saints. This is a trap game if I've ever seen one, I don't think the Saints will get thrashed, but I don't think they'll win.

Two Words: Lane Kiffin. It's as if Al Davis is trying to be the Rachel Phelps of the NFL...only far more demented and less appealing in a tight jumpsuit.

What in the world did the Bengals' front office see this season that made them say, "You know what? This will be the way to go next season."

The Broncos officially gave John Elway the title Executive Vice President of Football Operations and promoted Joe Ellis to Team President. Matt Millen is actually quoted by the Denver Post as saying, "I hope John does better than I did, because I stunk at it."
Saints LB Jonathan Vilma will replace 49ers LB Patrick Willis on the Pro Bowl roster as an injury replacement.
Edit: Broncos will seek permission to interview Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.

Since Marvin Lewis has now been resigned its time for some NFL fun facts!
Here are the tallys for the NFL's four longest tenured coaches, of which Lewis is now fourth. Note that none of these include playoffs.
Jeff Fisher: 16 years, 142-120 Andy Reid: 11 years, 118-73-1 Bill Belichick: 10 years, 126-50 Marvin Lewis: 8 years, 60-67-1
One of these doesn't seem like it belongs to me.
