I imagine that the Titans will likely go with the Giants'/Packers' model for preparing for their future. They will keep Collins around, have him start initially, but draft a QB for him to mentor for a year or two. That way they can be competitive and get their future QB established in their system so that they can cut down on the growing pains that having your franchise QB starting in his very first game comes with. Not every QB survives that fire.

Granted, I really hope that they don't do that so that the Colts have fewer headaches for a couple of years. Put all of those eggs in that basket, Titans!

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts are pulling out all the stops in an effort to ensure that Saturday's playoff showdown with the New York Jets won't be blacked out on local television.

At the beginning of the week, the Colts said that about 5,000 tickets were unsold and were available for fans to snatch up.

By Wednesday afternoon, the team said a few hundred tickets were still available, hours before an 8 p.m. deadline.

If all the tickets aren't sold out by Wednesday evening, the NFL could keep the game from being shown in Indianapolis.

A large banner at the top of the Colts' website Wednesday afternoon implored fans "don't miss history" and said that tickets were selling fast.

Several players, including punter Pat McAfee, wide receiver Pierre Garcon and cornerback Jacob Lacey took to Twitter and other social media, giving away tickets to followers and promising another ticket giveaway on Friday.

Blackouts haven't been an issue in recent years for the Colts, who have enjoyed unprecedented success as one of the league's top teams each year.

Tickets listed as still available through Ticketmaster range in price from $71 to $337 a seat.

The NFL's blackout policy is arguably the biggest FU to fans in all of sports. Sorry that you can't afford to buy tickets to the game in a poor economy everyone. We'll show you our sympathy by not letting you see the game at all.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has traveled to California to make an "urgent" pitch to Jim Harbaugh regarding Miami's head coaching job.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora also passes along a report that Ross offered ESPN's John Gruden $7 million a year to replace Tony Sparano, but was turned down

The point is Brett Favre is not the answer.
Even if he did come back he wouldn't be able to be the long term answer.

Oh no don't mistake me, I wish he had stayed retired after the 07-08 season. I just don't believe he is retired

Schefter cautions that San Francisco is not totally out of the hunt, but the Fins' offer is believed to be in the $7-8 million range. SI's Peter King calls that number "insane," and it would make Harbaugh the richest head coach in the NFL. The Niners are reportedly "ready to move on" if Harbaugh follows the cash. As of late Wednesday, Stephen Ross' Dolphins appeared to have emerged as the favorites to land the soon-to-be-former Stanford coach.

Yeah 10 years ago. Vince Young hasnt been given a chance to guide this team for a couple seasons in a row without being jerked around by Fisher. His actions have caused some of that but Fisher hasnt been nearly as successful since McNair left, at least until Vince Young came to town. Collins helped lead them to a 13-3 year and followed that up with these 2 stinkers. Has Kerry Collins ever won ANY kind of championship? Did Fisher win the Super Bowl? I think I remember Vince Young winning a championship sometime....

Kerry Collins has a NFC Championship ring with the Giants,played in a Super Bowl and has taken two teams to the NFC Championship game.Winning one of them. More then Young has done in his NFL career.
