Has Kerry Collins ever won ANY kind of championship? Did Fisher win the Super Bowl? Kerry Collins has a NFC Championship ring with the Giants, played in a Super Bowl and has taken two teams to the NFC Championship game.Winning one of them. More then Young has done in his NFL career. Again all of Collins accomplishments were a decade or more ago just like Fisher's greatest success. Young has a future while Collins should be nothing more than a backup at this point in his career.

Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News reports that the 49ers have begun "initial" conversations with ex-Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels about the vacancy in San Francisco. You're tearing me apart front office.

Saints signed RB Joique Bell off the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. Marques Colston fully participated in practice a week after having arthroscopic knee surgery.
Eagles signed RB Martell Mallett to their practice squad to replace Bell.

Wow, and I thought I deserved the most sympathy here this week with what my team was doing.
I can see San Fran now.
Frank Gore isn't a fan of one of Josh's running schemes. TRADED.
Vernon Davis has a bad morning and talks back once in line at catering. TRADED.
Yikes.

Honestly,if I'm San Francisco, there is no way I would pay him what Miami is offering. Not that I would go after Josh McDaniels(not sure what their logic is there),but I'm not sold on Harbaugh being a legit NFL coach. He had only one great season at Stanford and one good one. Now I'm not saying he won't be a good NFL head coach. He may be but I wouldn't want to spend a massive amount of money to find out. Let's not forget Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban's attempts in the NFL. You would think Miami would have learned from Saban but apparently not. Again,he may be a great NFL coach but in no way would I spend a ton of money to find out. I think San Francisco is smart to back out if the asking price is too high. Not too smart to pursue McDaniels though.

Damn Miami, if you're dishing out $7-8 million a year to a coach, wouldn't you want to make sure they were suited for the NFL first? I mean, I'm sure you'd be able to bring in Cower or someone of that stature for that amount of money. Just because Gruden said no doesn't mean everyone else will.

No way in hell should a team pay that much for an unproven coach in the NFL...hell I'd be hard pressed to want to pay someone like Bellicheck that kind of money...

Jets really need to start making Mark Sanchez a sort of focus for their PR efforts. He's a really good guy and would do a lot to overshadow everything else about the team.

Cowboys have called a 2:30pm ET press conference today to officially remove the interim tag from Jason Garrett.
ESPN and the NFL are close to an agreement to extend their contract for Monday Night Football, according to SportsBusiness Journal.
ESPN would retain rights to show highlights and the NFL Draft, and may get a wild-card game at some point in the future(SportsBusiness Journal is also reporting the NFL has considered making the early rounds of the Draft exclusive to NFL Network).
Bears coach Lovie Smith put his foot in his mouth, saying that the team was preparing to play the Saints in the Divisional Playoff round.
Commissioner Roger Goodell said on Mike Florio's PFT Live internet show that the league will again look at reseeding the playoff teams where the best records host the wild card rounds in the offseason. Florio notes that if they re-seeded based on record and assuming that a non-division winner wouldn't be eligible for a first-round bye, the games would been flip-flopped(all four road teams this weekend would be the home teams if they reseeded).
