Date a girl in a wheel chair?
I recently started talkin to a girl that is in a chair. She has a genetic spinal disease that makes her too weak to walk, but is otherwise normal. She's pretty cute. Also really artistic. Has some bad ass drawings that she showed me and also has a really good singing voice and writes stories and stuff.
I'm not too sure how I could handle a long term relationship with her though if it came to that. I really mean I'm "not too sure" also, because I really have no idea. It seems like things that I've taken for granted in the past could be sorely missed, but at the same time it may just be something I'd get used to quickly. Anybody wanna weigh in?

It shouldn't matter. If you like her, and like hanging out with her, pretty soon you will forget she is in the chair anyways. You never know unless you give it a shot.
and to answer the question, I would.

My ex-girlfriend has spinal problems, and has to use a wheelchair for any long journeys. It did make getting around more difficult, and sleeping in the same bed was somewhat awkward, as she had to be fairly upright with a ton of cushions behind her for her back. The situations might be quite different, I don't know, but it's probable that there are some things that you'll have to adapt to.
It's right to wonder if you will be able to cope, for both of your sakes, but if you care about them, and think you can do it, absolutely go for it. Everyone has things that you'll have to adapt to in a relationship, just that here, you've got forewarning!

If she's hot, then I'd go for it.
I mean, call me shallow, but a big factor is if she can still be sexually active. If she can - then I'd say go for it. If not, then I'd think twice. But, like I said - I'm pretty shallow. I needs the sex in my relationships.
If everything else is good, then I'd totally go for it because I've always wanted to try wheel chair sex. Imagine the possibilities.

Yes, absolutely. But I might be biased since I've actually been in a wheelchair.

I did leave out a major detail because I'm not particularly proud of it. It's a girl that I'm talking to online. She lives a little over an hour from my house so it's not like it's anything that can't be done.
Honestly at this point I'm more worried about meeting her and finding out she was just prettier in her pictures than in real life or something. The same thing I worry about every time I meet a chick online. She's sent me tons of pictures and we've spent a lot of time talking on skype so I think I have a good idea of what to expect but you never know really.
But I think it's a good sign that I'm more worried about that than the fact that she's in the chair. Actually, that part doesn't bother me at all. The only thing about her disease that worries me is that she says she gets sick pretty easily, which I could see being really hard to deal with. Then again, I think I like this chick enough to deal with it. She is by far the funniest and most talented chick I've ever talked to. Plus she seems like a bit of a freak which is always a plus.

Hey if she was honest about the chair thing how deceiving can she be when posting pictures, sure we all give out our best pictures in those cases, but its not like you are going to go meet her and its going to be a completely different person.

Sounds like a Romantic Comedy that leans on the serious side or a Chick Flick. I say the whole thing is cute. Don't see a problem here.

Good point. If she's in a wheel chair, I think the last thing she'd be worried about is myspace angles, but you never know with women.

Good point. If she's in a wheel chair, I think the last thing she'd be worried about is myspace angles, but you never know with women. This is very very true. Then again I once had a chick I met online fake her death in a very elaborate way just for the hell of it so for all I know this chick could be able to run circles around me and is just psycho or something. I really doubt it, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. I like her a lot though. I guess I'm thrown off a bit by the fact that she seems to want to talk to me a lot. Like, I'm not used to that. Don't get me wrong, I really like not having to play all these games in order to pursue a girl slowly, but it seems like there could be a bad reason behind that. Until I find out otherwise though I'll just assume it's because I'm incredibly sexy and smart and funny and a good rapper ;D
