ESPN reports Brett Favre is inactive vs. Detroit. He goes out with a whimper, all becuase of his ego. In fairness, most of 'em do; that's why they're going out in the first place. Troy Aikman is my favorite all time qb, and he had to retire after getting two concussions in one year after a myriad of others over the course of his career. Same deal with Steve Young, Roger Staubach et al. The Elway going out on top thing is pretty rare. ( and even with that, John should be thanking Terrell Davis) But he could have gone off on a major high note, TWICE! But his ego got in the way. Aikman and Young left becuase they knew it was over. Brett can't get that hint. and now he goes out like this instead of taking one of the two opportunites he had to go out on a high note. In 2007, Ted Thompson said the Packers were trying to save Favre from himself when they tired to convince him to stay retired. Looks like Ted was right.

ESPN reports Brett Favre is inactive vs. Detroit. He goes out with a whimper, all becuase of his ego. Working hard your entire career and teams begging you to come out of retirement means you have an "ego" problem? I'm not hating on your post or anything, but the media has made a bigger deal of these things than he has. The guy has been hurt all year. This stuff happens! I wish him luck and hope he gets the respect he deserves for the things he has done. He was truly great. He's the best QB to retire since Marino. Are you serious? This is the guy who: -Sent an X-ray of his ankle to the media after the NFC title game with the Vikes. -After he claimed "He had nothing left to give" in retiring from the Packers, had his agent go around to other teams about the possibilty of playing for them -Constantly waffled for 6 years on coming back or not. -Thought he could skip all of training camp and come in whenever he wanted. -Many times changed Childress's run calls so he could throw the ball. Favre has a major ego problem. He is a selfish prima donna. Anyone who can't see that is delusional.

Heinz Ward with his 950th career catch. So 950 is not a number he's trying to "ketchup" to, huh? I'll stop now.

Commissioner Teddy Long: I have decided that since the San Diego Chargers have been such great players playas, that I am inserting them into the playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Holla Holla!
(Please ignore the whole Ravens problem and just take the joke for what it's worth)
