Anyone remember back in the days of the N64, when Nintendo Power had a monthly section for readers to vote on the top games out at the moment?
From the time it came out, Goldeneye was king of the mountain - up until Ocarina of Time came out and for something like two years had the top spot, until eventually it finally lost... to Goldeneye, which had been in second place that entire time.
So the question is, which game do you prefer?
Ocarina for me, but then I don't like first person shooters. At all.

Ocarina. Though Majora's Mask is better.
I actually prefer Perfect Dark to Goldeneye too. Such a rebel.

I think Ocarina is the best game on the N64. I think Goldeneye is the most overrated. Decisions, decisions...

Goldeneye.
Not necessarily because it was the better game, after all, it was just a FPS, but because of how absolutely awesome the multiplayer was, and the memories I have attached to playing that mode with friends at the time.

Ocarina of Time is better in my eyes, though there's absolutely nothing wrong with Goldeneye, which is one of the best games on the N64 for sure.

Ocarina
I remember me and a friend made a challenge to go through the game without dying and we'd take a dungeon each.

Sorry. Goldeneye was a fantastic game. The best shooter ever up until that point. But in the year 2011 it just doesn't hold up quite as well. I played it a few months ago for the first time in years and got bored with it within an hour.
Ocarina of Time on the other hand...that game is just a masterpiece. Hell, I was playing it just a couple of days ago and it's just as good now as it was then. Graphically it actually aged pretty well. The story while simple, is very engaging. Honestly it's still my favorite game in the Zelda series and is unlikely to be surpassed.
Vote- Ocarina of Time

Thanks to advances in FPS games, Goldeneye is damned near unplayable today, meanwhile with adventures games, the Zelda games don't just hold up, but are still near the top of the freaking mountain.

I never got what's so special about GoldenEye, so Ocarina of Time by default, though Majora's Mask is better. And even that one isn't the best N64 game (close, but not the best).

I'd have to say it's a dead heat for a few reasons.
1. Ocarina is/was/forever WILL Be the quintessential Adventure game. It's engrossing enough t bring in casual players, with enough depth to easily eat up MONTHS of playtime to find every little secret/item/etc. It's only "flaw" would be the fact that it's a single-player experience. Not that multiplayer would have added anything per se...but if it has a failing it's that only one person can interactively enjoy the game at a time.
2. Goldeneye is THE reason for 4 ports on the front of your console. You didn't need a reason, if you had a group of people and this game.....you had the makings of a party. To me Goldeneye is the main harbinger of the FPS revolution that basically keeps the gaming industry running these days. While the Same Couch multiplayer has gone the way of the Dodo in mosty cases I think we owe a small debt to Rare for all those times we've fragged noobs, Capped the Point/Flag/Skull, or simply had our own personal "Killing Spree". Goldeneye took the FPS from LAN parties and PCs and brought it into our living rooms, and for that.....I thank them.

None of the above. Team Joanna FTW.
Though time hasn't been kind to Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. Goldeneye was a great game back in the day, but its main claim to fame, much like the original Halo, was that it helped to replicate an experience previously thought only enjoyable on PC's on consoles. I just don't think it holds up as well as other, older FPS', especially DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, etc.
So between the two, I guess OoT.
