I never said it'd cause damage, if it flopped. But if it succeeds, then Hollywood starts thinking 'hey, let's make shit.' Right now the films being made are trying to capitalise on how good The Dark Knight was because they believe that's what people want. If this film succeeds, we'll go back to the bad days, the tough days, the puns and goofy tone days.
We shouldn't forget that they were working on Jack Black to play a Green Lantern and a comedy Green Arrow film set in a prison before The Dark Knight struck big. Hollywood has no problems selling people shit!

Hollywood has no problems selling people s***! Oh, I know that. Problem is that we're already kind of there. You've seen the Fantastic Four movies and know how bad those were. The same can be said for Spiderman 3, X-Men 3, and Ghost Rider. Hollywood has already realized that they have a cash cow in superhero movies. The important thing is that word of mouth is huge for most of these movies. That's why The Dark Knight became so popular, so quickly. When word gets around that a superhero movie is horrible, it kills a lot of its drawing power.

This makes Ghost Rider look like The Dark Knight.

This makes Ghost Rider look like The Dark Knight. Ghost Rider has Nic Cage in it. Because of that it could only be Batman Forever, regardless of whatever movie you put next to it. That aside, I really don't think Green Hornet was that bad. My biggest gripe was that Rogen's character was a little too much of an ass and that it didn't need to be in 3D. I will say that I loved almost every second that Kato was on screen. His character was fantastic.

It has Seth Rogan in it and a Coolio song in the trailer. I smelt this turd immediately.

Green Lantern will suck no matter what Green Hornet does.
People want to see Van Wilder as a superhero about as much as they want to see Dale Denton as a superhero.

Green Lantern will suck no matter what Green Hornet does. People want to see Van Wilder as a superhero about as much as they want to see Dale Denton as a superhero. It'll make $450 million worldwide, easy!

I'm not very well versed in the Green Hornet mythology and the only thing I knew about it was Bruce Lee being Kato. So as a whole, I didn't follow the whole concept nor was I that interested in it.
Being an employee at a movie theatre I caught quite a bit of the film and it seemed to be a fun, exciting, and decent film. Nothing I'd want to watch again nor purchase the DVD.
Anyone who is familiar with the character, I thought Green Hornet was a pretty serious character who is a genius, expert at martial arts, and etc? All I saw was Seth Rogen in a mask acting like Seth Rogen.

All I saw was Seth Rogen in a mask acting like Seth Rogen. From what I understand, the Green Hornet show originally started out like that, but when people began to see what Bruce Lee was capable of, he became more of the focus of the show. Since this was an action/comedy, I think Rogen really played up that Kato did everything so that Britt could be the focus for the comedy aspect of the movie.

I'm pretty sure it'll tank, so I wouldn't worry about it bringing a plague to comic flicks.
Hell since the first trailer it's had a 'wait for dvd' vibe to me.

I wouldn't worry about it's effect on the comic book genre since about 95% of it's viewers have no idea that it was a comic at some point. The general public, if they even care to know anything about the franchise in the first place, know it as an old t.v. show.

I really liked it. It perfectly played up the fact that Kato does everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, whilst the Green Hornet, well, pretty much does jack.

I'm just and tired of Seth Rogan in general.
