InuYasha was generally pretty dumb, but I liked Shippo for some reason.
The vast majority of the time, I must at least tolerate a main character if I'm going to enjoy a show. Even though Spike and Giles are my two favorites, I like Buffy as well. But I can't get into Flapjack or House, as its protagonists irritate me.

Ryan Reynolds as Berg in Two Guys, a Girl and a pizza place, although to be fair Nathan Fillion has done OK for himself.

Won't be popular to say but if it wasn't for Barney, there's no way How I Met Your Mother would've taken off.

Step by Step was awful without Cody. With Cody, it was a bit more enjoyable

Won't be popular to say but if it wasn't for Barney, there's no way Barney & Friends would've taken off. No way it would've been successful, even with the hearing aid kid

For me, this begins and ends with Michael Rosenbaum and John Glover's runs on Smallville. That show was god-awful during their time there, but those two actors really made their scenes enjoyable.

DISAGREED very much so. Those 2 were the best parts of the show when they were around they made scenes that could have been meh to gawd awful instantly awesome. But when they left it wasn't untill season 9 that the villan void that was left in lex's absence was finally fixed , i mean tess was okay but she could never fill lex's role , and lionel ..not to spoil anything but it's been remedeed to say the least.

I don't think anyone would have noticed Family Matters if it weren't for Steve Urkel.

I don't think anyone would have noticed Family Matters if it weren't for Steve Urkel. This. As much as people hate on Urkel, he was a great character during his early run.

Urkel was one of those characaters that you either loved or hated but would Family Matters have been as successful as it was without him?

Family Matters sucked HARD before Urkel was added... it was just another generic happy tv family
Too bad, they did alittle TOO much with Urkel

Yeah, Family Matters was the Urkel show. Bottom line. It would have been canceled straight away without him.
