Since there wasn't a question for me I'm going to save what else I had to say for closing statements. I do want to say though that I think what you did was a great idea and it was a really cool way to close out the interrogation portion of the game. If I ever play again and am lucky enough to be on a jury, I may have to follow your lead on this.

so, madhack. first of all, i know you said you didn't want to an apology, but i feel like i need to give you one, mostly because... i had no idea you felt that disrespected. i kind of wish that was something you could have talked to me, and only me about as i feel it is a personal issue, but you went about it your own (and unique) way, and i respect that decision. but again, i am sorry for how you felt, because that was absolutely not my intention at all. i did think of you as a close allie, and now i just feel horrible, and i see where you're coming from when you say that i played a bad social game.

but as for why i never told you why your "edgardo theory" wouldn't work. i just looked through the PM's, and MGH and i had discussed your theory to see if it would work. while it would work, it wasn't needed because blindsiding berg was coming up, and that went well. when MGH explained why it wouldn't work, which i understood why, i said "ok, who's going to tell madhack then, me or you?"

he said he'd do it, so i was like, ok cool. i thought you and i had converse enough that for someone else to explain why a move wouldn't work would be fine, but this is something you obviously took personally, and it never occurred to me that something as little as that would effect your personal opinion on me. and i'll be honest, i don't think your opinion of me is very high.

i know that explanation probably isn't enough for you to swing your vote my way, but that's what happened, it's honest, and it's me explaining it the best i can.

OK, I'm going to assume that Madhack is done.

Before I give the order to vote, I have just one question to ask, and it's also kind of a revelation.

When there were nine survivors left (5 on W.I.N., 4 F.A.N.), I had seriously considered NOT merging the tribes at that point. How much different would the game have been had I not merged the tribes then?

it's hard to imagine, but i would assume that things might have gone maybe the same way, just with different people.

If you hadn't probably not much. Unless you're saying a merge may have never come, but I assume one would have sooner or later. If W.I.N. had lost a challenge either BB or Pegasus would have been voted out, and had F.A.N. lost they would have voted Ritt out. I think we end up at the same general place, just maybe with orders changed.

(BTW, if Trista wants to do her closing statement first, she has the floor. I feel like I've been hogging the first talking spot on these questions.)

so, that's it. i know my answers may not have been the novel like MGH's were but i think they were right to the point and as honest as you can get. i did work hard to get to this spot, and i think that shows in the answers i gave to all of your questions. who you vote for is absolutely up to you, and i respect everyone's decision. i would also like to thank everyone for playing this game, as i had an absolute blast playing it, and i hope everyone else feels the same way.

There was something Toates said in his speech that made my ear perk up, and it was something I was focused on during the duration of the jury questioning. Toates, you made reference to the fact that your communication with Trista throughout the game wasn't the greatest and you felt it was odd that you had to come to me for the Edgardo explanation that night. That ties in to what I've found so interesting during this line of questioning.

Trista has continually made vague references to her "being in deep" in the plotting and scheming and being a power player and us working together on all these plans. A lot of "I was in on that" and "we discussed it"s. Meanwhile, I'm here, and I'm telling you what the plans were, how they came about, what their purpose was, how I saw it would affect the game days down the line, why I felt they were necessary, how they were constructed, and why what happened when it did. Yes it's technically true that we "discussed things". But make no mistake about it, these plans were mine, and you don't have to take my word for it right here and now. Just go back over the seven sets of questions that you yourselves provided for this final tribal. I think the opposing answers say it all.

Trista mentioned reputations from the first game in the opening speeches. Her's from the first game was that of a good partner who was a follower. Mine was a little bit different. Mine was one of someone who had back stabbed, betrayed, lied, and pulled any dirty trick I needed to to win. This wasn't a secret either. Before this game started the first game was reposted for everyone to see or relive if you were there. I had eyes on me from the second this game started. I was target #2 if not target #1 from the jump. That was confirmed by Bergman at one point. Yet despite that, and despite you knowing how I play, I made it here. I fought and scratched and clawed and poured myself in to this and my hard work paid off. Whether I win or lose here today, I think both of our reputations have remained in tact from way the questioning has played out. I'm still going to be known as a power player who does what he has to do, and Trista will still be a loyal follower and partner to the one scheming.

I've rambled and made you read too much with all my answers so I'll leave you with this and end my blabbering. I didn't play well enough to deserve a win in the first game. I made mistakes down the stretch that were totally on me and it cost me. I still stand by what I said before in that I didn't play "god's gift to Survivor" this time either. But this time I feel like my game was tighter, it was more efficient, and every move I made had a true purpose. I don't believe I can play a better game for you than I did this season. I could try and come back and be a follower in the shadows trying to take advantage of someone, but I just can't play that way. It isn't me. Win or lose here, I know this is the best I have in me. If that is worthy of the title of sole survivor from you seven, I'll be eternally grateful. If it isn't, then I can at least be proud of knowing I tried my hardest, and went down swinging.
