Who does this benefit at all?
They already have more than half a dozen heels and barely any faces on SD.
At least on RAW he could be a tweener against Otunga and Punk.

Well, I look at it this way:
If he has officially been moved to Smackdown and this isn't just a "making a statement" move leading to the Royal Rumble, it makes sense.
If he had stayed on Raw, what would he have done? Feud with Punk in Nexus? That would have either turned Nexus face...which doesn't really work when you have a huge group of wrestlers together...or turned Barrett face...which I don't think would work for him in this stage of his career.

This is a stupid move. No reason whatsoever for him to be on Smackdown. They could've done something interesting with him wanting to destroy the very thing that he had made. But realizing he can't do it on his own and grudgingly having to have the help of the one man who hates Nexus and hates him as well to destroy them.

Sometimes the writing on the wall as to what to do next in an angle is so obvious nearly everyone can see it. Unfornuately, WWE *ahem* Creative had their backs turned the entire time to it.

I wasn't happy about him being moved to SmackDown, because of the whole wasted storyline with him and Punk, and I just felt like he could've done more on RAW.
But then I was like, I dunno... maybe he'll pal around with Drew or something. Maybe creative will, gasp, come up with something interesting for him to do. I thought at the least he'd bicker with Edge. Something.
But instead it looks like he'll be fighting... Big Show.
E-freakin'-gads. I only hope he doesn't end up going the Luke Gallows route and losing to Big Show all the time. Please no. Please, please no.
EDIT: As for it being an invasion/brief thing- I hope so.

WWE is treating this like an invasion. So he's still on Raw at the moment. He's facing Show next week and it's been confirmed he's moved to Smackdown as well. A pretty small invasion. |

Wasn't it DDP's philosophy that it you wanted to make an impact, you go after the biggest dog in the yard? With Taker out, last time I checked...Big Show is the biggest dog. I'm also hoping it's just an invasion. If it's a permanent move now, it's just wasted storytelling. So much wasted potential with Nexus. What's even worse is...they could have just had Barrett refuse to bring Cena back, he's off TV for a month or so, Punk makes his move and they boot Barrett, Barrett reinstates him for the Rumble. How hard can it be to give this man an entertaining storyline?? |

I've been calling for him to move to Smackdown since they f***ed up the Nexus storyline; so I've got no issue with this move, and in fact am in favor of it.
To my way of thinking there's really nothing they can do to salvage Nexus, and I really don't want to see him 'fighting against them', especially with Cena in tow; I'll give you that having virtually no resolution is stupid, but eh, might as well pull the plug I guess.
Though I guess it'd help if I had watched SD for the last month and a half.

In a way it still makes a lot of sense storyline wise. I mean after all, who is the guy that kicked Punk's ass and destroyed his old stable? By beating the crap out of Show it sends a message. I even see him cutting a promo to that very effect.
Also, Barret's Superstar profile has not been moved to the Smackdown section as of this posting.

Wade was able to actually, ya know do some damage when Punk, Gallows, Serena and Joey Hg couldn't. Want to show how much better you are than someone else?
