Meh, there are good points and bad points.
I like the idea of the more generic members of Nexus becoming just a group of mercenaries though.

I was hoping for a Punk-Barrett team-up kinda thing. Since that didn't happen, I was hoping for at least a bit of a feud with them. Some tension between him and the Nexus. Something. {Spoiler}Oh well.

Only person I ever cared about in Nexus was Wade, but I care bout Punk too, so I guess it's whatever for me.

They could've had something with this. They could've had something really interesting with this. They could've had Barrett furious over that he was ousted and decides to destroy the very thing he created. But he knows he can't do it by himself so he goes and gets the one person, the one person who hates Nexus as much as he hates him. The one person who has made each man's life an utter hell for the past six months for the both of them.
John Cena.
Sometimes the writing is on the wall as to where to go next but since the creative team consists of Stephanie McMahon, Michael "I still think it's 1978" Hayes, and a bunch of former Z list TV show writers who I wouldn't hire to make a kindergarten puppet show it's no surprise they just blew it off with no followup

I wish Michael Hayes booked like it was 1978. We might have actual creativity in WWE.
What makes this worse now is that the Nexus members look like weak lemmings. They didn't stick up for Wade, didn't even try. Now they have a new leader, so here we go. Otunga was just about the only one that really tried to get a power position at one time, and he absolutely sucks.

If they just flat out write it off with no followup or anything...just Barrett being off on his own, doing what he's done since he debuted...I don't think I can handle how peeved off I'm going to be. Barrett is Nexus. Just giving him the boot with no followup...this is just as bad as the followup to the Legacy breakup. One match at Mania and they go their separate ways...no rematch...nothing. God I hope we're wrong on this and they have something...ANYTHING...planned. {Spoiler}I would have even settled with Barrett showing up on Smackdown and them announcing that the Raw GM has traded Barrett. At least it would show that the Raw GM still has Nexus ties and has sided with Punk. Have Cena win the Rumble if he can go in time, Punk wins the title at Elimination Chamber (which I expected Barrett to do with Riley turning on Miz) and Barrett wins the Money in the Bank match. Either have Cena win and Barrett cash in the MITB to win the title to show he's the true leader of Nexus or have Cena lose and Barrett be the good guy cashing in with Cena battling off Nexus to have his back. Just...DO ANYTHING!

No, Barrett is nexus. It should have been Barrett vs punk at Wrestlemania with Cena moving on to something more important taking on the Miz. Because a Cena - Miz match is more interesting than punk and cena.
Plus it would be interesting to see how punk-Barrett interact on the mic as Barrett owned punk on the mic Monday night.

Now that I've been thinking about it, there's one thing about the whole thing that would make it all worthwhile I suppose...
What if Punk giving Barrett the "boot" is all part of the bigger picture. It may look like they're at odds, but now both men are in position to win their brands respective major titles at Elimination Chamber. Just imagine it being down to Barrett and Edge and Nexus swarms the outside of the cage showing us we all got swerved. Then if they're serious about merging the titles and Cena wins the Rumble...he can demand that he wants them both at Mania. That would at least be a more fitting "beginning of the end" and I'd even be willing to see Cena go over at that point.
Stupid spoiler tag isn't working...grrr.

I don't know how I feel yet. I think Punk Cena would be a great feud...but I don't under any circumstance want to see Wade's momentum stalling. He's too damn awesome for them to de-push! I'm a bit meh at how Nexus have thrown their lot in with Punk with no explanation too. I'm willing to see if they're going to go somewhere with it and it could all be okay. I just don't want them to mess it up (again!)

I don't know yet, it depends how the feud goes down but I can't say I'm a huge fan of them continuing the Nexus/Cena angle with Punk. Should have ended with Barrett vs Cena for me.

Ending the angle like this is a terrible idea.
Unless Wade's supposed to get some sort of reprisal down the road, which for some reason seems completely improbable.

I don't mind it, but I hate them just sending him off to Smackdown with no follow-up. Although his move to Smackdown tells me one thing. {Spoiler}Undertaker vs. Barrett - Wrestlemania 27

I think the way I'd have preferred it to go down is with Punk being aligned with, though not leading, Nexus. There just doesn't seem to be any real reason for them to want Punk as a leader - it isn't like he had great success running SES.

I would love love love for Punk to have Nexus turn on him, one by one, in the weeks ahead. Meanwhile, Barrett uses SD to be whiny at Cena for all his problems. Punk draws #1 in the Rumble and gets shalacked by Nexus one by one again. He perseveres to the end, number #30, John Cena. Cena whoops him over and over, and just as Punk is about to be sent over the top rope, Barrett comes out of the crowd. He offers to help him back in, saying "What choice do you have?" Punk agrees, and Barrett lowers the rope, eliminating Punk. Awkward stare, then as Cena starts to party, Barrett stops him and says "You're next," and pummels him.
