The Lita/Edge/Hardy deal was diferent At first we had hardy being fired, then fans demanding to be re hired, and fans really wanted to see hardy beat edge until THAT promo The thing is, people really wanted to see that feud, and WWE did a good job to make it seems at times like a ''shoot'' Here just feels unnecesary and a little too late, also lots of people knew about the relationship of edge, matt and lita, with TNA, they just made Jarrett and angle feud until suddenly karen appeared and became a love triangle angle, I don't know how many fans knew about this situation or if they even remembered karen, It was just something that happened with no build up, they should had played it a little more They have this hyped since the first episode of Impact after BFG and you can even say it goes back to December of 2009. Jarretts entire Impact promo post BFG hyped Jarrett taking Angles wife. Saying there has been no buildup is not accurate it has been building up for months.

I mean, TNA really tries to use nostalgia as a crutch. People want something new and fresh, not two guys rehashing a storyline originally played out by guys 15 years younger than them. When you're 45 and still having this drama - it just seems sad. It's is not a rehash of anything it actually happened. You can have drama at any age what difference does that make. It just so happens in TNA's triangle we have the best wrestler in the world invloved in the story. There is no promotion more guilty of rehashing old stories then the WWE. There is only so many scenario's you can do in the ring so ideas from yesteryear will always play a factor in wrestling. Nexus split looks very similar to nWo Hollywood vs nWo Wolfpac to me and that is the main focus of the biggest shows in the WWE brand right now so don't throw stones.

It's not even a rehash of the Edge/Lita/Hardy angle. It's a rehash of the Karen/Kurt angle from two years ago when Kurt won all the belts.
When the shit hit the fan originally, Kurt was on the verge of going back to WWE. Dixie demoted Jarrett (I honestly believe Jarrett was boinking Dixie after his wife died and then went to Karen thus Dixie's anger) and was able to resign Angle to a long-term deal because Jarrett was no longer in a position of power over him. Jarrett was made out to be a backstage cancer so under that circumstance, it makes sense for him to be a heel. And goodness-knows Karen Angle sucks out loud as a face.

I have no interest whatsoever in seeing this.
1. I hate worked shoots. It doesn't matter which company is doing them, who is involved, what the angle is. Usually all they accomplish is pointing out that everything else is a work, they usually require knowledge of events that (often) only a portion of the audience knows about, and if they end up being entertaining at all, they're no more entertaining than 100% worked angles.
2. I didn't like this kind of thing when it was done with Edge, Lita, and Matt Hardy. It required introducing information that had at no point in time been referenced on air. Okay, Matt and Lita had history, so that wouldn't have been a stretch. But Lita had been involved with Kane in kayfabe, and suddenly it's, "Look guys, I know you've seen her with Kane on the last few shows, but behind the scenes, she's been with Matt Hardy. Then when he was out, she hooked up with Edge. The Kane thing is just part of the show, so forget that - this is REAL!" If I hadn't heard about the whole deal on the internet, I'd have been wondering, "What the hell is this? Shouldn't you wrap up one angle before you start another one? Especially when it seems to come out of nowhere?" Real or not, from the perspective of someone just watching the show, it didn't make any sense.
3. Angles with some basis in reality can be fine. Angles based entirely on reality seem to end up being the shits. In Memphis, Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee legitimately didn't like each other. According to Cornette, even when they were tag team partners, they would knock each other when talking to fans. Jerry Jarrett decided that since the fans knew they didn't like each other, they would acknowledge that and work with it. Cornette talked about it as letting the fans in just enough to know something, then you WORKED from that and because the fans knew they didn't like each other, the work was successful. In the WWF, Jake the Snake's wife was actually on the road with him in an attempt to help keep him somewhat straight. Instead of having Jake come out the ring stumbling and slurring and having her intervene, they put her in the crowd and have Rick Rude hit on her. As Jake said, to the best of his knowledge Rude and Cheryl never hooked up. But with this being acknowledged as his wife, it was easy to understand him being pissed off and ready to fight when this guy hit on her and then put his hands on her when she slapped him. The part with her being his wife was real, the rest of it was a work, and it was successful. Compare that to Lawler bringing up Jake's alcoholism. Yes, it had been acknowledged by Roberts himself during his comeback that he'd had problems. So they go on TV and beat him over the head with the fact that he'd been an addict and Lawler spits whiskey in his face, all the while cracking jokes about Jake's problems on commentary, infamously cracking up Mark Henry, who was supposed to be on Jake's side. Nothing of significance comes about as a result of this, except for Jake falling off the wagon again. And yes, knowing Jake, he probably would have anyway. But if that's the best you can say about something, it's in pretty poor shape. Of course, we also had Hawk's problems acknowledged on air. Not one person in the audience knew a damn thing about it until the brought it up for the angle. First of all, there's really no good that come from an angle based around someone's substance abuse issues. That aside, they decided to have a drunken Hawk climb the titantron while Animal called him "Mike," so you knew this was REAL. No one cared and it did nothing for anyone involved.
So, with this current bit in TNA, I see the best possible outcome as being, "We have an angle that I have no desire to see that brought in real life aspects for no particular reason." Worst case scenario? Well, there's a lot of possibilities there.
