In regards to AAI2, the only positive sign will be the game sitting on store shelves in the US. Really Capcom. In fact it doesn't even have to be a full DS retail release... It can be 3DS, DSi Ware, Wii Ware, PSN, XBox Live, Cell Phone, IOS, PC...anything! It can be a choose your own adventure book and I will buy it.

The announcement...was that there'd be an announcement on January 29th, along with a hint of the aforementioned Phoenix Wright in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 reveal trailer. Again: FRAK!!

Capcom's "kill the audience of old age before we even tease releasing the game they want" strategy will somehow backfire on them, I think.

So again, it's not a JRPG, but I've watched a couple of videos for Skyrim on Youtube and read through the thread here and I'm pretty floored. It's like, "What am I missing out on?" And I saw Catherine at Walmart and it reminded me that I still need to play it too. And there's other stuff, like Dark Souls and the Batman games and other things too. Maybe it's time for me to start looking at a 360. Or a PS3, maybe; today's opened my eyes a bit. It'll be a bit far off though, because poorness again, hahaha.
No JRPG playing for me right now, per se; I'm going through The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (and then Twilight Princess) as a runup to Christmas and Skyward Sword.

I'd go for the PS3 if you're not too particular. I guess I'm biased as I own one and not a 360, but I'd recommend it based on Valkyria Chronicles. It's seriously one of the best games I've ever played. Plus there's the absolutely delightful 3D Dot Game Heroes, which is a lot like Legend of Zelda. Unsure about whether I want to play Skyrim or not. For all the faults that Oblivion had, there were some amazing parts of it also - Shivering Isles was a lot of fun, and when you finally get out of the opening dungeon area and see the world for the first time, it's breathtaking. If Skyrim addresses some of the issues I had with Oblivion (stupid leveling system, glitches all over the place, among others), I might check it out, but I'm not super excited either. Just finished up Professor Layton and the Last Specter, mostly. There's still one thing I need to do in London Life but it's taking a long time - you have to get 10,000,000 Wealth for a mission, and there's only a few quests that get you a large amount of wealth and the jobs don't pay enough either.

Yeah, Valkyria Chronicles. It's doubtless great seeing as its PSP sequel is great, and it's developed by the team who did Skies of Arcadia so you can't go wrong there. 3D Dot Game Heroes does look pretty cool as well, I saw it at Walmart.
In the Skyrim thread people were saying that the game fixes much of what was bad about Oblivion, for what it's worth. Bethesda apparently has a history of stability issues with the PS3 versions of their games though, and Koda posted an article in the Skyrim thread about reports of problems once the filesize exceeds a certain point.
Like I said it's still a ways away due to monetary concerns, but eh it'll give me time to think. After seeing gameplay videos of Skyrim it fascinates me, and if they can fix the game's purported PS3 problems in a Game of the Year rerelease or whatever I'd lean much more toward the PS3, due to stuff like Valkyria Chronicles and 3D Dot Game Heroes and the Ratchet games and upcoming Sly Cooper.
Still waiting on Layton too, for that matter. I saw they have the Eternal Diva movie released over here now.

Haven't played VC2, but yeah VC is awesome. And it features cameos from Skies of Arcadia characters - Vyse and Aika are playable, and I think Fina is the medic who prevents fallen party members from being killed. I'm really waiting for another good, long, console JRPG before I dive into an open-world RPG like Skyrim. Which doesn't appear to have much chance of happening anytime soon Hoping for the Layton movie for Christmas. Then if the 5th game and the Ace Attorney crossover come out here I need to scrape together the money for a 3DS.

Now starting another playthrough of Valkyria Chronicles II during Zelda breaks. I know there's DLC for the game but I'm hesitant to pursue it, and it ties in with my misgivings toward online shopping. The PSN hacker attack earlier this year only kind of reinforces this.
Wish I could get over this borderline irrational fear I have about identity theft.

So, my parents are awesome. Surprised me with a PSP today because of how much I help out around the house. So as soon as I can get a memory stick I can finally get around to the three Persona games I have for it.
So, any recommendations for PSP games? I'm already thinking:
Jeanne D'Arc Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions Lunar: Silver Star Harmony Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles Valkyria Chronicles II
I am looking mostly for RPGs.

The Legend of Heroes: Trail in the Sky, Riviera, Yggdra Union, the Final Fantasy IV compilation, Ultimate Ghosts 'n' Goblins, and Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth all seem to be decent picks (I have Trails in the Sky and Yggdra Union along with the GBA version of Riviera, and all three are great). Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep looks pretty nice too, I've been meaning to pick it up myself.
I'm playing Crisis Core: FFVII right now and I...wouldn't recommend it. The gameplay's pretty fun (though a bit unrefined and way too RNG-based) and the materia system is very good, but the story is generally unintentional hilarity or irritating retcons and the newly introduced characters are mainly forgettable (except Cissnei <3).
Ahaha, it should also be said I haven't played all of Trails in the Sky. Not even close. But what I have played of it I like a lot.

If you're a fan of 8/16-bit RPGs then I'll recommend Half Minute Hero (although the game isn't really a RPG).

Anyone see that new trailer for Final Fantasy 13-2? That is if anyone is interested: {Spoiler}Time gates and changing the future. Hmmm, where have I heard that before?

Thanks for the PSP suggestions.
I'm getting a big more-of-the-same vibe from everything I see of FFXIII-2. Everything will look pretty and sound great, but the plot and characters will be awful and the battle system will be a needlessly convoluted mess.

But then it turns out she's still going to be a big part of everything. {Spoiler}I just hope that Vanille doesn't return.

Speaking of time travel, one of the characters here kinda looks like Aeon from Castlevania Judgment, which also has time travel..
