Anybody reading Prince of Power? Any good? frakkin awesome. I'm reallly hoping the series gets to continue after Chaos War with Pak and Van Lente. those guys can do no wrong when it comes to the super-gods IMO. these guys should be writing Thor, too. |

Some quick questions. I saw a comic book page of Nightwing giving Oracle an engagement announcement of him and Starfire (after sex, cause Dick's name wasn't appropriate enough). When was this? Did it happen yet? What are/were the odds that this goes as wrong as most wrestling weddings? That happened way back in the day in Nightwing or Outsiders, can't remember which. Speaking of Outsiders I miss Grace and Owen, well at least Grace didn't die in a utterly stupid way. Boomerang Jr.'s death may just be the single dumbest thing Geoff Johns has ever written. and I say that as a huge Geoff Johns mark. |

I whole heartedly agree with both of the statements above.
Owen dying was a dumbass move just so Johns could get his Silver Age jollies on again, and Cho is the best new character in an age, well, other than Baron von Blitzschlag, but we'll never see him again.

Went to my local shop yesterday to buy some graphic novels for gifts, and ending up getting two graphic novels (Deadpool: Secret Invasion and Spiderman: Origin of Venom, a $50 value) totally free. Plus finally picking up V for Vendetta for $10. A super successful day.

Got the entire run of the new Ghost Rider and it's...okay, Jason Aaron's stuff is terrific but Daniel Way's stuff is just terrible to read, I think I'm going to sell that part of the series because I feel so cheated by it.

She's not really a big enough character to be worth it, and the only reason they want to do it is because its all goth and teen demons.
I'd rather they do a series featuring Jaime Reyes' Blue Beetle, or that Robin series sounded pretty good.
Maybe if they actually went all out and did a Teen Titans show, even though I'm not a huge fan of the comics, that could be good.
But Raven alone? Trigon a TV budget? Doesn't sound good to me.

New comics have no interest for me anymore (apart from the Jonah Hex series/Invincible hc's). The last tpb/comics I've bought have been:
Daredevil Frank Visionaries Miller v2 & 3
Thor Visionaries Walter Simonson v. 1 & 2
Crisis on Infinite Earth Absolute Edition
X-Men Dark Phoenix 30th Anniversary Edition
And all of those are stories I used to own but had to get rid of. Hopefully something new catches my eye, but after the years of crossover and event storytelling both of the big 2 have turned me off their product. For a while I expect I'll just go back and review Silver/Bronze Age stuff.
But as I said, Jonah Hex has been good. Jimmy Palmiotti is a local, and I chat with him on twitter about boobs so I figured I'd grab this project from him for a try. Its one of those gritty westerns, but guest shots from Bat Lash keep it from being all cowboy doom and gloom.

I actually like that Kirby is 'The One Above All' in the Marvel Universe (not that it needed to be Kirby, it could have been any or all of the old Bullpen, but I like the idea of it)
