Not to keep taking jabs at Morrison, but could anyone actually FOLLOW Final Crisis, much less enjoy it? I was more annoyed that Batman was killed there as opposed to his main book. Especially when you have a story entitled 'R.I.P.' was just a real bait and switch. Because Magneto still did those actions and it was too much of a break for the fans too take. Even under the influence of a drug, killing hundreds of people in freaking ovens is too much to take and then have him retain his characterisation.

/\ well I didn't think so. if it was too much take (which, as I said, I don't think it was) there were still better ways to bring Magneto back with his boring "oh I'm morally ambiguous even though I'm a f***ing terrorist" persona than... that.

Honestly? JSA to be 'rested'?
I'm a calm person, but... until they are brought back, I am DONE. F***ing DONE.

I loved Final Crisis. it has to be read as a collection, though. reading it as a monthly would be painful. and for some reason Didio made the Superman: Beyond stuff a limited series when it needed to be read to understand FC. For some reason it was hard to find around here, so I read FC and only some of the tie ins. AND IT MADE NO SENSE LOL I read these event series books by themselves until the whole thing is over and I can really collect all of the accompanying books. I'll give it another shot if I can get my hands on more of the tie ins. So it was a publishing issue and not really Morrison's fault then?

It made perfect sense to me Me too, and I thought it was exceptional. The end, with the crowning moment of awesome parade, was just perfection. Hell yeah! <internet high five>

I'll give it another shot if I can get my hands on more of the tie ins. So it was a publishing issue and not really Morrison's fault then? you HAVE TO read Superman: Beyond, because it has critical plot points that don't happen in the main series. without Superman: Beyond, most of the events of the last 2 issues are going to seem like Morrison was pulling things out of his ass. and a bunch of the supposed tie-ins (Countdown, which shouled be COMPLETELY avoided, Roges Revenge, the GL tie-in and Legion of 3 worlds) actually have nothing to do with FC at all, and were only given the FC name to sell more issues. so yeah it was a publishing issue. just pick up the Final Crisis trade paperback, it comes with Superman: Beyond and another oneshot called Submit that has critical plot points as well. it's also printed in the order it needs to be read in. that's 10 issues in all, which is all that needs to be read. obviously, you need to also understand a few things about the basic history of the DCU, and it's NOT new reader friendly at all, and reading through it more than once will help, but if you, like me don't have a problem with that kind of thing, then Final Crisis is a gem. and if parts of the end seem confusing, that was actually kind of the point. you were supposed to feel a little confused, just like the people of the DCU were. but it's all minor things that don't really matter much to the story anyway, so I wouldn't let that discourage you.

I did not find it hard to follow, but I was not that big a fan of it. Still, the scene with the various multiversal Supermen was badass.

And just when I thought we had hit rock bottom, hear today that it sounds all but official that Lois and Clark are being split up.
Here is what really irritates me, besides the dissolution of the marriage.
It is a relaunch, not a reboot. And yet, all characters except GL and Batman are getting basically restarted and I'm willing to bet GL got spared because of Geoff Johns and Bats because of Grant Morrison. Says something that he basically said his story would have to be finished in a separate series later.
I think I'm mad because I've been collecting and loving comics since 1992 with the death of Superman. And now, apparently, everything means absolutely zero now.
I will try the single issues, but I am darn close to taking a nice long break from comics, except for trades.

They are damn good, though they're not essential. Also Revelations is really good & relevent to Final Crisis.

Apparently once this all goes down the timeline will be set so that the present is only 5 years after Superman started .....Supermaning.Killing Joke and Death in the Family and Infinite Crisis will still all have happened.

Wait, Killing Joke would have happened, yet Babs can still walk? And Damian's still ten with Grayson being an adult? How's that work?

And Tim Drake still became Red Robin without ever being a part of the Bat-verse. Want it all explained? Gotta get the comics in September. *rubs his temples*
